Soon after the war began Duke Edward Raiva seceded the Duchy of {{Reglink|DW|Aegir}} from Springdale to form the tyranny of the [[Raivan Empire]], with the intent to remain neutral to the Springdale/Virovene conflict. Soon the region of {{Reglink|DW|White Plains}} switched allegiance to Morek, cutting the capital of Springdale off from the rest of the realm. Eventually the Duchy of Springdale itself left the Empire of Springdale, joining the realm of Morek. This mad Morek the largest realm on the continent with 19 regions and 80 nobles. Due to Raivan Empire's agreement to build temples as part of their neutrality, many lords were forced to join the Bloodstars. Imperial Chancellor Edward also seeked expansion and quickly took {{Reglink|DW|Freke}}. This caused outrage by Morek as they had claimed the land. Diplomacy grew tense between the newest superpower and the small Raivan Empire and Ordermarshal[[Stormcrow Family|Medugnatos Stormcrow]] and High Inquisitor Anabellium 'Runner' West of Morek put claims upon Aegir and {{Reglink|DW|Aegir's Deep}}. After several skirmishes in Aegir's Deep and military occupation of the region, the Raivan Empire gave in and agreed to give Freke to the papal state that was to be founded upon Moses' Peninsula.
