The original discovery details of the Bizarre Helmet of Spring have been lost to time. It was recently lost by High King Gheric Arylon of Westgard who issued a request of the Order of the Emerald Shield to recover his helmet, offering a 500 gold reward to the commoner that did so.

Wardens -- I have lost my Bizarre Helmet of Spring battling against the beasts in the Mountain of Woe. Any adventurer who recovers it for me, and rehabilitates it (it was slightly degraded) will receive a 500 gold bounty from me upon it being returned.

After recovering the item and repairing it for his King. Vivi then returned the Bizarre Helmet of Spring to High King Gheric Arylon of Westgard and claimed his 500 gold bounty and a recommendation from the King himself. The Bizarre Helmet of Spring is still in possession of the High King of Westgard.
