This small book is about the length of a hand, so that one could open it and hold it in one palm. Instead of being bound in leather is is ornamented with two metal plates for a cover and back. The plates are dull and unassuming but something about them seems powerful. There is a scorch mark in the right corner that has a faintly blue or red sheen, depending upon the light, as if it were lightning struck. If you place nails or metal filings close to the cover or back they will be drawn inexplicably to the Book like to a lodestone.
