The History of the Grand Principality of Phantaria

The Duchy of Phantaria was first carved out of the darkness that was the pre-settled wild-lands of the Messoccidens by the Republic of Terran, to which it remained until its independence. The Duchy was built out of the city of Shokalom, first conquered by the Duke Labell Enstance. Enstance would serve as the Governor of Shokalom, and Duke of Phantaria, for many years until is retirement. After his retirement, the longtime Senator of Shoka, and renowned military leader of the Republic of Terran--who had lead the conquest of the Phantarian regions, was inherited the Governorship of Shokalom and the Duchy of Phantaria.

After the decade long war against the Commonwealth of Aurvandil in the Maroccidental War, the Orvandeaux of Aurvandil launched a mighty amphibious invasion of the Republic of Terran to end the war once and for all. During the siege of the Chateau Saffalore, the Republic of Terran began to crumble at the seems. It's Chief Magistrate was protested out of office after attempting to incite the Zuma Daemons. Asylon invaded in the Duchy of Phantaria just days before the Orvandeaux landed to burn and pillage across northern Terran. After several days of siege, the Duke of the Chateau Saffalore, Duke Quintus Scarlett, surrendered his city and keep to Aurvandil; because of this Magistrate of Justice of Terran, Hireshmont II Vellos, attempted to bring charges of treason against Duke Scarlett within the Republican Senate. Many objected his suit, some supported it, the Duke of Phantaria had had enough.

On March 23, in the 22nd Year since the discovery of Dwilight, Duke Kale Perth seceded the Duchy of Phantaria to form a new realm of the same name.

Weeks later, the Nobility of Phantaria would formally ratify the Charter of the Grand Principality.

A week later, Kale Perth would be elected the first Grand Prince of Phantaria.

The Government of the Grand Principality

The formal governing document of the Grand Principality is the Charter of the Grand Principality of Phantaria.

The Charter outlines a balanced government structure centered around a strong central authority in the Grand Prince, balanced by the Diet of the Wood, a council of the Lords of the realm.

The Geography of Phantaria

Phantaria is named after the Phantarian Forest which dominates the majority of regions in the realm and duchy.

Kale Perth

• Grand Prince Kale Perth serves as the first Grand Prince of the Grand Principality of Phantaria.

The Diet of the Wood

The Diet of the Wood is the legal body made up of the landed Lords of the Principality. They act as both an advising body to the Grand Prince to help direct the policy of the realm, as well as a source of balanced power to preserve the rights of the Nobility. Their specific powers as well as the interaction owed to them by the Grand Prince is detailed in the Charter of the Grand Principality of Phantaria.

Law of the Realm

The Law of the Principality is upheld by the High Constable, who enforces and oversees all legal matter and disputes. Section 3 of the Charter of the Grand Principality of Phantaria defines the laws of the realm.

The Cabinet of the Commandant

The Cabinet of the Commandant is the military advisory council to the Commandant at Arms, the chief military official in the Principality.

The Armies of the Principality

• The Thistle of the Occidens, sponsored by the Duke of Phantaria and Margrave of Shokalom, Kale Perth. Spiritual successor to the old Pride of Phantaria, charged with the defense of the Principality.
