Tarasac was one of the many cities in the Cagilan Empire.

Taraicon.png History

Tarasac has a long and storied past. Originally part of the Cagilan Empire, it was seceded to form the realm of Tara, which is how they got their name. When Tara lost the city it was retaken by the CE. The city seceded from the Cagilan Empire, led by traitors attempting to establish Tuchanon IV. Loyalist forces attacked the city, but were rebuffed. An opportunist Falasan captured the city and quickly turned it over to Drachenwald, and it served as their only city and capital. The Cagilan Empire's General Tsubaki of the Sanjuro Family launched his "reconquista" campaign aimed at restoring the city to its original owners and the city became part of the Empire again. Drachenwald was wiped off the map, and Tsubaki was granted the Dukedom as his reward.

In its second secession from the Cagilan Empire, the Duke of Tarasac, One Rogala, created a new realm in Tarasac, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Though he claimed the blessing of the Cagilan Empire's Primer Minister, Vengence, the city was regained by Cagilan Empire forces and he was put to flight.

The Cagilan Empire has since given Tarasac back to Tara in exchange for the city of Nida from Carelia.

The Drachenwaldian Claim to Tarasac

Dictator Skanders summed up the Drachenwaldian claim of the city in a letter to the rulers of Atamara:

DrachenWald hereby lays all present, past and future claims to the city of Tarasac and all lands within the boundaries of the region. Tarasac currently flies the DrachenWaldian banner and all of the citizens of the city finally rejoice knowing they shall no longer be treated as chattel and traded from realm to realm at the whims of their former rulers. While we do understand that when Tara was first birthed from CE Tarasac was her capitol, we also recognize that Tara gave up any right to claim the city with love when Tara gave her to Darka as payment for a contract. Then when Darka was generous enough to return Tarasac to Tara, Tara did not look after her well enough for the people of Tarasac and so they revolted and joined CE because they were afraid of Taran rule. CE has proven in the past they also do not wish to govern over Tarasac as they gave her up to Tara to start this all off. Although I tried endlessly these last months to negotiate with the rulers of both Tara and CE to allow us the chance of giving Tarasac a government who cared about them, offering anything they desired as payment if they so wished but alas my pleas repeatedly fell on deaf ears. Falasan has given us the chance to prove to the people that there is a government who cares about them. A government who has united the people of this city with their relatives in the mountains. Uniting them with the people they have traded with and worked with for years. The people of Tarasac are finally, for the first time in many generations, happy with their government. The walls of Tarasac have been repaired and the people feel safe. The current Duke of Tarasac has worked tirelessly to build up the infrastructure of the city and never before has it seen the commerce that we have created here. I hereby lay all future and ancestral claims on Tarasac under the DrachenWaldian banner and will entertain no other claims upon the city. I respectfully request all the wise and noble rulers of Atamara to support this claim by voicing their agreement on this matter in this council. With all respect to those who read these words, Skanders
Dictator of Drachenwald, Baron of Alaise

  • You can see that this worked out really well as a plan for Drachenwald. After years of work, CE scientists have discovered that this man was speaking a language called "gibberish" or more commonly known by its shorthand name "BS". Drachenwald had been greedy, wouldn't give back this city which was not theirs, and they paid for it.
