Alcatil
Situated just south of Foda, the area's most populated region and capitol of the Duchy of Foda, of which it is a part, Alcatil is a region mostly covered by forest. The region is sparsely populated but for its villages, of which there are about a handful in number. The people make their living from logging, hunting and small scale farming, but they are also known for supplying the Taran armies with soldiers for its Special Forces. Being a stolid and uncompromising sort, they have always excelled at the sort of no-nonsense approach to life that is the foundation of the policies of the SF. Although the people of Alcatil are quite good humored and outgoing when it comes their own, a certain degree of caution can be felt when dealing with strangers. This does not mean that strangers aren´t well met, it will just take a little more patience when trying to befriend any of the locals. As soon as that has been done, however, you will likely have found a friend for life. Being a border region, Alcatil has neighbors in several regions of the Cagilan Empire. For many years people in Alcatil have been trading goods with the Cagilans and decades of peaceful co-existence has also resulted in the intermarrying of the locals with many Cagilan families. It is roughly estimated at this time that 10-15% of Alcatil's population has their roots in the Empire.
At this time, the lord of Alcatil is Ardorus Esotericus, younger brother of Adolphus, Marshall of the Taran Homeland Defense and Duke of Aja.
