Byblack

Byblack is a pleasant, average-sized rural community. The people are a hardy race, having endured much brutality from one war after another, but the visible scars of war have faded, and Byblack is once again a picturesque landscape of wide open plains that can be overlooked from the mountains of Stargard, or the rolling hills of Jagla.

The county is ruled from a small town called Blackthorn near the center of the region. Nearby, the count's manor, the largest plot of land with a single owner, sits in simple, but majestic beauty. The regional banner is ever-present over the count's home, joined by his family crest when he is at home; when matters of the state are at hand, the realm-wide flag also graces the roof.

History

Byblack is a region that has changed hands many times and has been under the control of at least three different realms. The first was RedSpan, the true owner of Byblack. (Editor's note: Actually, the original owner at the start of time was Kanzum, which was conquered by Lamar, and then split into RedSpan. - Mr_Jones) The region was then claimed by Tara during the first great war. With ASI and Tara at war, the ASI took control of Byblack. RedSpan then retook Byblack from ASI during Abington's war with the ASI. Then during the RedSpan-Tara war, ASI occupied the region. Eventually, the region was returned to RedSpan, peacefully, with the end of the ASI-Abington war over the islands.

However, after changing hands once again, the region is currently a part of Tara.

For those interested in visiting Byblack, the food alone is worth the trip with wine made locally from it's numerous vineyards and some of the best dairy on Atamara, certain cheeses are the envy of neighboring regions, and are often found sitting on the tables of dukes and kings.
