Jagla
A medium-sized peaceful region known for its flat fields and its mountainous hills. It is located just east of Tara's present capital of Aja. On Jagla’s west we have Tandsu and Aigaling. To the east we have Tichi and Aja, both of which are former regions of the Ash Sea Islands.
Jagla, being now the fifth populated region in Tara with an average population of 7600 people, is well known for producing great amounts of wood used in the making of trebuchets, spears, and arrows for Tara’s great army. They are also known for producing and distributing great amounts of ale in its taverns. The taverns of Jagla are famous for their local ales and several of the local cooking recipes are nearly famous as well, such as their salt pork. Hospitality in Jagla is second to none, and no one would even think of refusing visitors, but I do warn you to expect to drink a fair amount of ale while you visit; Jaglans do enjoy our ale. If you should have any questions or comments regarding Jagla then please do not hesitate to come on down to my estate but don’t forget to bring your favorite mug.
History
On 1 October 2007, Xeon the Shadow was killed fighting Monsters in Nardil. Rojo DeVesta replaced him.
Jagla was made prosperous in great part by her former Lord, Rojo DeVesta. He kept the land well-maintained and prosperous mainly through the export of the excellent ales produced here. In fact, the reason for the present popularity of Jaglan Ales throughout the east can be traced directly to Lord DeVesta and his diligent work at distributing some of the better local ales to other nobles of the land. Indeed, he rarely traveled without at least one Ale Cart in his train and frequently brought along 2 or 3, keeping the first one for his personal use on the road.
The region was granted to Lord Damon Harrow for services rendered in the war against Minas Ithil to the north after Lord DeVesta stepped down and continued to prosper under him.
Some while after, the Lordship was granted to Lord Adolphus Esotericus, Marshall of the Homeland Defense Army of Tara, upon the elevation of Lord Damon to Duke of Starguard. Being himself a native of Jagla (ie, local boy done good) Adolphus was eagerly greeted as a worthy successor to Lord Damon by the local populace, as the Esotericus name is well known here.
On 20th March 2010, Gorinder Mogger was appointed Count of Jagla, and remains so to this day.
