To the victor goes the spoils. Shame my name ain't Victor!

— reputedly the last words uttered by Predbjørn Tyreslagter when his ship sank with no survivors.

Short history of the Tyreslagters

Styrbjørn - Requiescat In Pace

The original Tyreslagter. Spent over 750 days in Perdan, serving as military commander and twice as Lord of a region and once as Duke of Aix. Emigrated after growing sick of the childish attitudes of the council. Believing himself quite the infiltrator, he was proved wrong when, in the course of mere days, he was caught twice and executed by the villainous Moonglum.

Thorbjørn

The next-oldest brother. Has served Talerium all his life, and with distinction. Posts held include Prime Minister, Duke of Chocxal, Judge, Minister of Defense, some Countships and he is currently serving as Minister of Finances and Count of Mattlu. He distrusts mercenaries.

Predbjørn - Requiescat In Pace

Younger brother of Thorbjørn. Starting his noble career in Caligus, he was soon disenchanted with the leaders and emigrated to the New World. Here, he had the bad fortune to join the Athol Collective which was just being eradicated by Rines Republic. He tried to join Rines but was deported by the Prime Minister. While en route back to the East Continent his ship ran into a typhoon and sank with all hands.

Predbjørn II

The younger brother of Predbjørn (no, their father wasn't very creative with names). Starting his noble career in Ibladesh, he was soon disenchanted with the leaders and emigrated to the New World. Here, he joined Silantin and helped found the puppet realm Ozgard. After its fall at the hands of Mesh he emigrated again, this time to the wartorn South-East Island. Here, he was first elected King of Ikalak and after abject diplomatic and military failure he abdicated and was elected Judge. Having had enough of seeing his subjects screw up everything, he emigrated back to Beluaterra and joined Melhed. Even though he was quickly made Banker, Melhed proved a bad fit, being a realm of thugs and ruffians. Fronen was much better and he sought glorious death there among the monsters and undead. He has a physical disability; a monster once bit off his arm. He was elected Prime Minister of Fronen, but after his defeat to Donald in the following election he moved off to other pastures and founded the realm of Khthon. That was a short-lived adventure, however, as Plergoth immediately declared war. After a brief struggle, Predbjørn II surrendered the city but managed to negotiate with the Plergothians so he kept his duchy. Shortly after, he was elected Minister of Offence in Plergoth, a post he still holds to this day.

Asbjørn

The youngest of the five brothers. Started out as a zealous crusader in Rancagua, but soon longed for a more quiet life. He emigrated to the Colonies where he is now serving as Arch Priest and Duke in Wetham. It is rumoured that he has a secret chocolate cookie cache hidden somewhere in his Temple, which he guards fervently. Asbjørn is also the founder of the guild Usurers Anonymous, an organization solely dedicated to improving the wealth of its members.

Valdbjørn - Requiescat In Pace

Until a short time ago, nobody knew Valdbjørn was a part of the family. As Styrbjørn's illegitimate son, he had been living in Arcachon with his mother and kid sister all his life. After Styrbjørn's death, he learnt his father's true identity and took up his way of life as a nobleman of birth. Having spent two weeks among the noblemen of Archahon, Valdbjørn realized that he would never fit in among the people who had until recently been his divine superiors. As a consequence, he decided to emigrate to the newly discovered continent called the South-West Island, where he was the first member of the realm called Ikalak. As his first action, he had some documents forged and claimed the title of Duke of Ikalak. During the Long Night (OOC: The week-long pause of July '05) Valdbjørn lost his post, but soon hereafter he was elected as Ikalak's first ruler and successfully transformed the realm into a Theocracy, serving as its first Pontifex Maximus. After being wounded by an assassin, he committed suicide as the only means of cleansing the shame of failing as Nergal's chosen avatar.

Humbaba - Missing in Action

Originally a foundling retrieved from the doorstep at the family mansion in Meuse, Humbaba grew up to become the Guardian of the Woods at the Tyreslagter estate in Meuse. After many years there, he discovered his true heritage - he is an half-elf, and was left due to his human mother's shame. Outraged at this and disillusioned with the human race, he travelled North to join Sirion and fight the humans until they are vanquished and the Elves once again assume their rightful place as rulers of the All. Suddenly, in late November '05, Humbaba disappeared without trace as he was travelling between Elmbar and Sirion City. His whereabouts currently unknown, he is lurking in the shadows as a menace that may once again swoop down on the Tyreslagter family.

Yi, the unknown concubine mentioned above, at some point received her inheritance from the estate of Styrbjørn Tyreslagter. With these means, she has risen above the commoners and have become a minor noble in her own right. She travelled in the Far East from her homelands in Arcachon to the lands of the Grand Lodge of Lunaria, where she stayed for a few months. After discovering that the realm was given to pointless bickering, she took the ferry from Dsinanas to Hatdhes to join Nighthelm. Just a week later, Lady Yi made her way to Svunnetland where she seemed to be settling down. Finally, she had found a realm with female nobles in a position of power and thinks this is the perfect place to stage her plans for female domination ... but nay. An argument with the King led her to leave the continent in disgust and make her way to Ikalak on the South-West island, where her late son Valdbjørn met his demise.
