• Family Mansion in poor rural province of Dulbin, East Continent.
Family History:
The Ironsides family are impoverished nobles from Dulbin. The legacy of the Ironsides is proud and legendary, but the state of the blood has thinned, and the remaining members of the family became obscure. Jagur, the previous patriarch, had wantonly practiced polygamy, and produced many bastard children, presumably an uncountable amount because he was with so many new women, and travelled East Continent extensively. He died of typhoid. His brother Soren, a tamer, gentler man, became the Patriarch of the Ironsides after Jagur’s death.
Soren worked his farm hard and was able to build a successful apiary on the family land. Soren has no wife and no children, and devotes his time to maintaining the apiary and providing for his nieces and nephews. He is reaching an advanced age. From the production of honey, he was able to rebuild a small fortune and give some of his nephews the opportunity to live truly noble lives. Now they seek to restore the former glory to the Ironsides name and serve in various realms on different continents, for better or for worse.
Ironsides Generations
Spawns of Jagur, the First Generation
Jagur and his frequent women produced many sons and daughters, three of which have been ennobled by the wealth of Soren. It is rare for any of Jagur's spawns to have both the same father and the same mother. In fact, none are yet discovered.
Armstrong, the oldest by a few months, is set to be patriarch once Soren passes, and thereby remained on the East Continent while two of his brothers emigrated. He was ennobled at a time of terrible wars on Fontan, facing five powerful enemies bent on its destruction and embroiled in a civil war, as one of those enemies was the seditious Duke of Fontan itself! (The tyrant of the Confederacy of Fontan) He was a knight of Ashforth, under Duke Duncan, then served Duke Niles as a knight of Karbala, was the Count of An Najaf for a long time until he resigned and returned to military service. After his resignation, he became a knight of Oberndorf under Count Requiem and returned to the army. Armstrong commands the fierce and strong Roughnecks who used to march with the Fontan Rangers and the Lions and now marches with the Fontan Strike Regiment. A true Hero of the Democracy, many tales are told of Armstrong's youth and heroic deeds. He has already become a living legend for the people of his home region of Dulbin, and stories told of him are spread throughout Fontan and the East Continent. As well as being a Hero on the battlefield, Armstrong is also a prominent, if not foundational, member of the Elementalis Academy. Along with Elder Elberan, he was instrumental with the creation of the curriculum and the structure of the Academy. He is the Guild Master of the Elementalis Academy in An Najaf, an Elder of the Academy, and a Master of the Fire Element. After his rehabilitation plan succeeded in the region of An Najaf, the Hero of Democracy finally realized his dream to build the Congress of Democracy. In retaliation for the attack on An Najaf by Caligus during an unannounced cease fire, the Hero of Democracy formed his own gang called the Headbusters Gang. Their sole purpose was to cause as much damage to Caligus as possible, either by destroying the raiding units, or invading enemy territory. Unfortunately for the enraged Count, a peace treaty ceased his desires to assault Caligus. Instead, his army became a dormant force, waiting for the day to unleash vengeance. A terrible day occurred in the life of the Hero of Democracy when he was betrayed by Count Jon Paul Ogren who destroyed the Congress of Democracy. The Hero of Democracy went through several erratic reactions finally to settle down and bring the issue to court. The Congress of Democracy versus Count Jon Paul Ogren begun to decide the matter, the court was presided over by Supreme Justice Moira Dubhaine.
Black Bowie, demon of Dwilight, was once a prominent Judge of the Grand Duchy of Fissoa. His duty as a knight earned him a tale telling of his brave unit’s final battle, known as the Legend of the Iron Toughs. He even began a family in Drowenton, a blooming life chronicled in Bowie and Arabell. Abandoning his wife, his child, his status and position, the man succumbed to avarice. Now he serves his lust for fortune, his lust for victory and most desired of all, his lust for power! A troubled Villain of Dwilight.
Archon Major Hades, died of pneumonia in Rotherthorpe at the age of 23 on the 12th of March, 1009. He was buried in a small local ceremony beside the temple. His wife Lady Cimiko and their children, Titus and Ariadne, moved to Leohampton to be with her family. The Death of Hades records the quiet funeral.
Second Generation
As the offspring of Jagur mature, they found their own Houses and build their families.
Avandor, son of Bowie and Arabell, was born in Drowenton, Dwilight. Having been raised without knowing his father, Avandor assumes his mother's story is true, that Bowie was killed in battle against monsters.
Titus and Ariadne, twins of Hades and Cimiko, born in Rotherthorpe, Atamara. They live the humble lives of a religious family.
Selena, daughter of Black Bowie and the harlot Melani, born in Port Raviel, Dwilight.
