The House Gryphonheart originates from the coastal city of Poryatown on the continent of Dwilight. The family roots are deep in those lands and the historical legacy they bring is terribly long and ancient. The family ascended and descended many times during the Three Generations that made their impact on the world as we know it. The ancient history can be found in the tomes collected and interpreted by Anarion Gryphonheart, the eldest son of Elgorn and the leader of the Third Generation of the Gryphonhearts. The tomes are present in the family library in Poryatown and can be found under the name of Saga of the House Gryphonheart.

Lord Elgorn, the last living member of the Second Generation of his House, was a man of great determination albeit sometimes very cruel. As a noble of many virtues and vast experience it fell on him to try and preserve what little has left of his ancient line. His wife Katherine of the House Araagard gave birth to three sons of his, all of them born with the noble blood and a stout heart. From him the line of his House continues into the Third Generation. Anarion, Parcival and Tristan grew strong during their childhood, until such a time when they were old enough to represent the House. As the eldest son Anarion was tasked to remain in Poryatown and restore the family lore by publishing it, while the twins Parcival and Tristan were sent off across the white world to bring fame and recognition to their father and their House.

There were other various relatives and knighted minor nobles that have represented the House. As such, Edmund was one one of them and he has joined the family when Tristan knighted him and welcomed him into the House Gryphonheart.

The second born son of the Third Generation and the middle child, Parcival has been sent by his father to represent the family on the distant continent of Atamara. Dissatisfied with that decision of his father and deeming his departure from home as a penance, Parcival became a bitter man who often seeks battle while in fact he desires death on the battlefield which is concealed by the veil of gloryhunt and heroism. He started his service in Minas Ithil as a knight of York where his hidden yearn for death may very well be answered, or adversity may turn Parcival around and make him the man of the future instead of the past.

"The battle ground is abandoned and the grass is stained by blood both common and noble. Only I am here with vultures and ravens who are my sole companions." - Parcival during the epic battles of Minas Ithil.

Riombara Small.JPG Tristan Gryphonheart (active)

The third born son of the Third Generation and the youngest child, Tristan is the idealistic and chivalrous noble who deems fair battle as the test of ones virtues. As the protector of the people and the noble fighter of the realm he considers his earthly service away from home not as a penance, but a reward which allows greater glory to his House. Guided by the covenant of a cavalier, Tristan is the example of the medieval knight of highest chivalrous standards. Sent by his father to represent him in the Far East, Tristan entered the service of Soliferum as the knight of Osaliel only to sail off to Beluaterra two weeks later, where he entered the service of Riombara. Before he left he knighted a young scribe of his and accepted him to the House of Gryphonheart.

"Raise your blazons high, noble protectors, for tonight we dare the darkness and laugh in its face as we run it down!" - Tristan just before the heroic charge at the undead.

Midas-icon.png Edmund Gryphonheart (retired)

Edmund has been a companion of Tristan during his journey to the Far East. When Tristan decided to leave for Beluaterra, he knighted Edmund and accepted him to the family. Edmund became eternally grateful towards Tristan for that, and the two of them have been very closely tied to each other ever since. Edmund is a man of the pen and has a certain disgust towards the cruelty of the battle. Needless to say that a certain amount of fear of death is also a reason why he chooses to follow the sharpness of his pen and the brilliance of his mind, and not the path of the sword. When Tristan's boat had sailed off, Edmund traveled north and started his service in Ohnar West. He retired some time later and returned to Poryatown to serve his House more directly.

"Kings and Queens may be grand and invincible, but without a proper chronicler the history will not remember them as such, and their names will be blank dots on the pages of some old and dusty book." - Edmund teaching a young clerk.

Micro Pian.png Anarion Gryphonheart (retired)

The firstborn of the Third Generation of the House Gryphonheart, Anarion is tasked with bringing the fortune and fame to his family. As the Prince of the Gryphonheart he is determined to restore the history of his forefathers who have resided in Poryatown for many generations. With the banner of his House in one hand and the banner of Pian en Luries in other, Anarion gazes the wild areas of Dwilight seeking to bring glory upon his name. He commands the Gryphonguard, the elite warders of his family's residence since the days of old. His hand is strong, his resolve is unmatched and his path is the path of the hero. After the death of his father, Elgorn, Anarion ceased to serve any realms or lieges and became the master of his House, fully dedicating himself to the day-to-day running of the family lands.

"We have scars as the testimony of the days of old. Fear not and follow me to taste glory and victory under the imperial banners of the Lurian iron fist!" - Anarion in command of the Gryphonguard on the northern border of the Lurian Empire.

  • 2010-03-17 Got a fame point immediately after a turn change. Had two battles with two of my characters so I am pretty sure it is somehow associated with battle, yet I can't figure out what it could be. I would rule out the Exceptional Skill 'cause my chars are still pretty young and haven't seen that many battles.
  • 2010-04-06 Fame point somehow associated with owning unique items (or for receiving a certain amount of prestige with unique items). Waiting for clarification or confirmation from Tom.
  • 2010-04-12 No idea.
