Family Fame

Got a fame point immediately after one of my characters bought two unique items. Can anyone confirm that this does or doesn't earn you a fame point? --Gryphon 18:10, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

very close. Yes, there's a fame point there, you are wrong in one tiny detail (may be due to this fame point not always having been there). --Tom 08:32, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Hm, well, from top of my head the only thing I can think of is that maybe it is not how many unique items you own but how many prestige they give. For example, two of my unique items got me a total prestige sum of 5 points, so perhaps it possible to have only 1 item which gives 5 prestige or more, and still get a fame for it? If anyone has other ideas please leave a comment. We wanna nail this one. ;) --Gryphon 12:57, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Purchased the Ornate Aegis of Deception, gives 4+ prestige and I received 1 fame point. Pretty sure I had only 19 fame yesterday. BUT, I am not sure, as I have had 20 fame before, but seemed to lost a point after I buried my dead hero and immigrated with another char to Dwilight. Possible because of the overall prestige, as it dropped below the 50 prestige due to the new char and the immigration. Only even though I have already more than 50 prestige again, I never got the fame point back. So I was not sure. And today the server was updated, so it might as well be caused by that, I have no idea. But I hope I have been of any help.
More Updates --- Posted: 2010-04-09 16:16:18
The server was updated to revision 4496 today, for those who follow such things. Important changes include the implementation of two Feature
Requests, an adjustment to the rate at which food rots based on whether it's in a warehouse or not, and the announcement of certain treaties
continent-wide. There were also several bugfixes in this update.

Did you purchase the two items together? Maybe the point is simply for holding two items. That could explain one of mine, although I'm not certain enough of the timing to be sure. vonGenf 15:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I have purchased them in the same time. I think it is either a) simply owning two items, or b) reaching a unique item prestige threshold, with one item or more. I am not sure if this fame point would apply for adventurers, though. --Gryphon 17:29, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
I can confirm getting a point for something like this as well. I wasn't sure what it could have possibly been at the time, but now, it would make sense. My character has held two unique items for a while now, and they now total +9 prestige. I gained the point a while back, so I can't confirm whether it is +5 with one or more items or just two items. I would believe though that it is +5 with two or more items, perhaps 1, but I got the fame before that. For reference, I have a +5 and a +4. I'll let this group know if I get another point at +10 prestige for two items. Silverfire 22:00, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
It cannot be for holding a single +5 item, unless this was added less than 6 months ago. vonGenf 11:51, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
There were several bugs fixed in fame within the last few months. (Though the most recent update, cited by Roy, had nothing to do with fame) --Anaris 16:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
So the possibility exists that I really received the fame point through purchasing the +4 prestige item? As nothing else major happened during that period. Only the update, but as Anaris stated it had nothing to do with fame. --Roy 22:40, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Unique Item Offered (8 hours, 38 minutes ago) You are being offered the opportunity to buy a unique item, a armour called the "Elemental Vest of the Kings". Didier (Freeman) is willing to part with it for only 10 gold. If you want to accept, you can do it only here and now, while both of you are still in this location. The deal will take an hour of your time.

Accept the deal by clicking here. To reject or ignore the deal, simply do nothing.

I got a fame point the turn after i bought this item. I recommended the advy. None of my other characters did anything, just loitering around in same region. Ceorl 17:49, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
