Summer Evening - Viseu

Royal Absent

Shadow King Lindow Moonsun has been absent from his positions for too long a time. His titles have been recognized as unoccupied and are available for someone else now (to be appointed or elected, as appropriate). The positions affected are:

  • Shadow King
  • Margrave of Karbala
  • Duke of Shadow's Bluff

Brigdha Dubhaine

You carefully work the ritual inscribed on your scroll of Healing.

The magic from the scroll is unleashed. Within instants, Lindow makes a rapid recovery.

Lindow Moonsun

After the battle, Lindow's badly body was taken to Central Manor whose location was unknown to the enemy. The healers watched Lindow care day and night, everyone there was worried.

During the days of recovery, Lindow had small moments of lucidity, he could see his injuries that seemed to be very serious, the healers talking about the state of health, Captain Lutolf ordering other grey guards to patrol the surroundings of the farm, among others people.

However, when he lost his lucidity it was as if he fell into a dark well from which he could not get out until he saw a light joined by a strong and determined voice, whose words were strange to Lindow but magically it was entering to rescue him as a string.

Lindow finally opened his eyes and he saw his savior, Ambassador Brigdha. There were also Captain Lutolf and great Shadowdale nobles like Lord Robin and Sir Tzedvier.

Lindow began to speak in a dry, broken voice.

- I had a dream, I saw a light as golden and warm as sunrise and a voice ... - Lindow looked at Brigdha who could be seen in his hands ashes of paper falling, then he looked at his wounds and saw that they had healed but still it was still somewhat weak.

- Lady Brigdha, you are my savior, my golden light, without you I don't know if I would have survived, I owe you my life - then Lindow looked at the rest and asked

- where am I? What happened to the battle and our nobles? -

Brigdha Dubhaine

"Your Majesty, I very much feared we had lost you," the Ambassador's face looked weary, as if her great age might at any moment manifest itself, but her tone was one of relief and her hands were vital as they clasped his, strength flowing from her into his wasted muscles.

Still, the knowledge that far away in the Vale of Clermont another honourable man had indeed passed beyond the firmament into the Higher Realms weighed heavy on her conscience. Had she beem free to travel Brigdha could have saved Lord Jacelyn and that might have opened a fresh rapprochement between Perdan and Perleone. But she had had to choose. To weigh the hope of a peace yet to be brokered against saving the life of the one man she had sworn to always serve, no matter the cost.

Even across these many long leagues she could feel Etain's sense of failure. The girl had set her leechcraft against Death only to learn that Death was not so easily contested. Behind the girl's sorrow there was frustration. Frustration that she was still but a shadow of her grandmother, an adept but still far from the status of Balance Walker.

"Even now the priests prepare your funeral bier and the bureaucrats seek an heir upon whom to confer your titles," she helped the King to his feet, wrapping one of his royal robes about his shoulders, "and weak though your flesh is you must stand show yourself to the nobility."
