All you Need to Know about Da Great Goat And Redspan! | February 2007 Edition |
Current NewsVery Interesting Last Week19th February 2006 The last week has been a very good one for Redspan. Our regions are looking in fine shape, our peasents never been happier, now that Da Way has finnally been brought to them. At the last count 24600 peasents worshipped Da One. A new shrine was built in Lurgrod and a new temple was built in Stargard. Unfortunatly, our neigbours in ASI the Magna Serpaensism have casued soem harasment to our priests. Their followers have attacked our preists who are just teachign about Da Way. The one priest of Magna Serpaensism who did preach in Stargard was quickly escorted out of the city on a strecher. All in All its been a good week. Peace with Talerium, Cease-fire with Darka, new followers of Da Way. Ladies and Gents of Redspan, I salute you for your hard work. Its finnally paying off. --Article written by Tony Recovery Underway10 February 2007 (Sullenport) by Dabug Habap Throughout the streets of this old city, one can hear hammers pounding at all hours of the day and night. The people of Sullenport are working hard to repair the damage caused by the recent battles and looting by their Darkan and Talerians. The efficiency of the mercenaries in both battle and destruction can hardly be doubted and all hands in the city fervently hope that the thousands of gold in damage will satisfy the Darkans as punishment for RedSpan's actions this winter. Word has it that Meldeen's biggest hurdle is a lack of people. As such, the King and Judge are arranging shipments of Sullenport Stout, known for its More Undead8 February, 2007 - Dielo Today in Sullenport there were two undead hordes to deal with. 167 Undead with nearly 4500 CS met 220 Redspaniard soldiers on the field of battle for about two hours at dusk. The undead were victorious, wounding two Redspaniards and taking one captive. Fortunately, the hordes were reduced to a mere 1000 CS, which should be eliminated in another battle at dawn with reinforcements from Ambermel. Forces wandering Falasan6 February 2007 (Byblack) by Dabug Habap RedSpan's favourite bard, Benny Kimura reports that Darkan and Talerium troops seem to be him chasing him through the lands of a RedSpan ally, Falasan. Thus far, they've travelled through Jagla and Chagasu. The chasing nobles include 3 Talerians (Tudor, Dargoth and Gaothaire) and one Darkan (Thrawn).
When asked for his thoughts on this incursion, Tank Van Eylen, King and High Marshal of Falasan stated:
One imagines that with the current wars (Eston vs Falasan and Tara vs Falasan) and unstable political situation, that these four nobles are acting without approval of the rulers of their respective realms. Another Undead Uprising5th February 2007 Today, 3k worth of Undead has risen in the city of Sullenport. This is just one of the latest sightings around the continent. This looks like a new Beluaterra may just begin. Let's hope not. --Article written by Tony Fool gets in the way...5 February 2007 (Meldeen) by Dabug Habap In a surprise development, RedSpanian troops accidentally engaged Darkan and Talerium columns headed for home. Apparently, Dabug Habap cannot read a map and did not realize that in order to avoid violating Falasan sovereignty, they would not depart Byblack for Jagla, but would return via the route they came. Coincident with these events is a the publishing of an analysis of the war written by Nirandor Jezralhm. Cease Fire With Darka Anounced!4th February 2007 Today a cease-fire with Darka has been announced. This will last approximately 6 months starting today. One with Talerium will more than likely follow. This now brings in a period of calm after 2 weeks of looting. --Article written by Tony Barony looted RedSpan because...4 February 2007 (Stargard) by Dabug Habap Sordnaz, Dictator of Barony of Makar, Duke of Sale, revealed to the Northland Tribune the reason for the Barony looting RedSpan:
Odd that the Barony would drop its alliance with RedSpan and then come down and loot their former ally. One wonders if Federation member, Eston, is prepared for when the Barony decides to raid them again. King of ASI comments4 February 2007 (Stargard) by Dabug Habap When asked for his thoughts on the recent Darkan/Talerium wander through the Ash Sea Islands province of Rogeshore, the King stated:
It is indeed a tragedy. The people of Rogeshore are lucky to have a King who loves them so. New Newspapers Everywhere!3rd February 2007 There are lots of new newspapers being brought into existence. There are also a lot of revivals as well. BoM, Talerium and Falasan have recently started their productions, whilst Tara, ASI and Abington have blown the dust off the print machines and oiled the cogs to work with the current demand of fresh news. Hopefully more will follow in their footsteps. --Special Notice-- Also in the running for best new newspaper award is the new Redspan newspaper, As Told By Benny. His paper is a honest and un-diplomatically biased paper. One that runs on beer alone. Go Benny, we're behind you every step of Da Way. --Article written by Tony Tara-Falasan War Erupts1 February 2007 (Meldeen) by Dabug Habap While wandering the vineyards of the family estate in Meldeen, I read with interest the Tara Times stories on their new war with Falasan. It appears that Taran troops occupied territories in the western end of Falasan as they negotiated with the Catherine, Queen of Falasan, over a peaceful turnover of these provinces, which Tara sees as its rightful lands. When Catherine was ousted from office and replaced by Tank, the government of Falasan lost interest in giving away these provinces, apparently more in line with the thoughts of its nobles. Though Falasan was already engaged in a war with Eston, they seem willing to defend their territory and Tara's tyrant, Jonathan, felt forced to declare war. It is, as yet, unclear whether the Cagilan Empire will be involved in offensive operations against Falasan and whether the Darkan troops coming through the Empire are intended for such a role with its Taran ally or not. Of course, the Darkan troops that just marched through Ash Sea Islands could easily turn northeast and participate in that campaign. There is a confusing web of alliances, wars and ancient enmities at work. As the ancient curse goes, May you live in interesting times. Official Thievery Spreads1 February 2007 (Stargard) by Dabug Habap As noted in last month's issue, Darkan Arch Priestess Lady Lavigna is lining her own pockets with gold stolen from nobles fighting in RedSpan's defensive war against extortion by Darka. Now, their hand-maiden, Talerium is doing the same. At least Darka can claim that they are "merely collecting a debt", while Talerium hasn't even such a feeble excuse for this breach of protocol. One must assume that taxes in Talerium cannot satisfy their Judge's personal needs. |
Comments for this monthTony's CommentsThe hard work is paying off. Keep it up! Shamus's CommentsNone Yet Dielo's CommentsInteresting month, no? Anyway, I personally hope we can finish fixing up after the Darkans got their sacred retribution, and move on to finding people to thump. Dabug's CommentsI really have to learn to watch my tongue. When I saw the sister of Arch Priestess Lavigna in Stargard, I assumed it meant that all our plans were being revealed to the sell-swords. I have been assured by the Carelian King that Yavanna would never reveal anything to her sister and she herself asserts that she would see her sister dead before she spoke a kind word of her. Of course, Yavanna had to hit me over the head to convince me (I'm thick-headed, so she had to hit me twice.) |
