So there you have it. Avamar gets destroyed. Many former Avamarians desert Oligarch on the verge of it being destroyed by the same enemy. Then they gather in the ruins of another realm they overthrew so they could form Avamar Jr. Congratulations guys. Now we can see what freedom, democracy, and the will of the people really mean to Avamar. i.e. Nothing, when it stands in the way of them getting what they want.

The Rampant Lion
Chronicling Perdan's Ceaseless Struggle
for Justice on the East Island

The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke (attrib.)
In every land, in every age, there are always tyrants that will prey on those who are weaker than themselves. Given free reign, they will spread their lies across the land. They build empires on a foundation of deceit, manipulation, and boundless ambition. Left unchecked these tyrants will devastate East Island, and all it's inhabitants, in wars without end.

The Kingdom of Perdan will not stand idly by while the East Island is led into ruin and destruction. The Rampant Lion will stand forth as a beacon of truth regarding the travails of Perdan as it seeks to oppose those who would bring destruction upon our lands.

As events in Perdan unfold, they will be chronicled here so all people on the East Island have access to an accurate, fair accounting of the events taking place in our world.

The Rampant Lion is a proud member of OCPAU, dedicated to the rapid dissemination of the finest news on the East Island.

Tournament announced in Light of Fountain!

May 4, 2006 - Now that the Kalmar Islands has been reformed into a democracy, I thought it would be an interesting time to take a look at who is currently calling the Islands their home. It's probably no surprise to anyone who has been following the story that there are a quite a few nobles in the Islands that used to call Avamar their home. In fact, 18 of the current 42 nobles are either directly from Avamar, or have very strong family ties to Avamar. It's also interesting to note that no less than seven of these former Avamarians deserted Oligarch while their capital was under siege by their greatest enemy. Sirion. How's that for loyalty? After their precious Avamar is destroyed by Sirion, Oligarch is nice enough to give them shelter, and allow them to continue the fight against Sirion. Then when the chips are down and Oligarch is in desperate need, they turn around and desert Oligarch.

April 26, 2006 - Rotating door governments in Old Rancagua? The last hour has seen not one, but two rebellions in Old Rancagua. Fuinur, the ruler prior to the last series of rebellions and counter-rebellions, declared a rebellion and overthrew the government in the span of less than an hour. But less than 20 minutes later, another rebellion was announced! How long will it take for the government of Old Rancagua to settle down and get back to the task of ruling, rather than rebelling? Update: The counter-rebellion has succeeded. Thalanteus has seized control, and declared the new government a monarchy.

April 24, 2006 - The small raiding party of Ibladeshian and Itorunt troops has largely been driven from Perdanese lands. Their small expeditionary force was contained to the westernmost border regions. They failed to penetrate into the heartland regions of Perdan, and their looting was mostly ineffectual. The enemy rearguard was last seen in Clermont headed for Al Aquabah.

April 21, 2006 - Looks like the small group of Ibladesh and Itorunt soldiers attempting to raid the regions of Perdan hit a brick wall in Beziers. A brick wall named the Perdanese army. In the short battle that ensued, Alex Exiled, editor of the Itorunt Informer was wounded.

During the occupation of the city, the city walls were reduced from a mote and bailey to a mere pallisade. The population of Ibladesh is starving, with thousands dieing from the lack of food.
