The elven family of Ni'Tessine, based in the realm of Sirion on the East Continent, is at present a minor noble family. They were recognized in the Year of the Roaring Dragon (OOC: started Oct-11-2009) for notable acts of bravery.

Origin

Steadholder Lucas and his son, Corwyn, were toiling the land in a small settlement outside of the city of Parm, when word came to them of a massive boar with tusks almost as long as daggers. The boar had already killed two cows and maimed a farmer who had tried to fend it off. Equipping themselves with bows, Lucas and Corwyn set out deep into the forest to put down this threat to their land. Though ultimately successful Lucas was fatally gored in the attack, leaving only his son Corwyn as the sole survivor. Over the course of 2 days, Corwyn dragged the mighty beast through the woods back to Parm. In recognition of their brave deeds the Duke of Parm, Sir Alexander Acies Dux Ducis(1), rewarded both Corwyn and Lucas (post-mortem) with the gratitude of the city and a title for them and their descendants.

To this day Corwyn wonders if it was truly his deeds alone that earned him his title, or whether there weren't other motives that were also responsible for this family title.

Heraldry

It is perhaps ironic then that the Ni'Tessine heraldry does not feature a boar. Perhaps feeling a little self-conscious about his commoner background, and trying to distance himself from it, the founder Corwyn chose a rampant pegasus as the primary motif. No doubt he felt it was more majestic and regal than a boar.

Family Members

Corwyn

Corwyn NiTessine.png

Corwyn Ni'Tessine is the founder of the Ni'Tessine noble family, though it came at great personal cost: the life of his father Lucas.

Soon after becoming a noble he became a student of mentor Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico, and shortly afterward swore an oath of fealty to Sir Vlaed Aldarion, the Count of Elmbar. In time Corwyn became Count of that region himself, and he now runs an estate on the northern edge of Elmbar. For a time he also served as the Marshal of the Army of Sirion, and for now he serves as the Banker of Sirion.

Corwyn is doing his best to put on a brave face, take on a noble bearing, and make a name for himself. The natural choice is of course to lend his forces to the war effort, and in that capacity he aims to achieve both honour and prestige.

The captain of Corwyn's troops is named Karl Einheart, brother of the previous captain Conrad Einheart.

Terril

Terril is the younger elven brother of Corwyn and has left the elven realm of Sirion to find his fate in the continent of the Far East. He is presently the Marquis of Soniel (in Arcachon), once served as the Vice-Marshal of the Black Blades army, and was elected as Banker. Unlike his older brother Corwyn, Terril is not at ease in armor and is much more the consummate politician. His passion is for taking care of people, not for taking up the sword.

He has since abdicated from his position as Banker, but remains active in discussions of the realm.

Torin

Torin-Profile.png

Torin is the son of Lucas' first wife, Allora. A bit of a sad tale, Allora is said to have left the straight-laced Lucas for a roguish merchant and confidence man. It was a wild life, just as Allora wanted. Torin was brought up in a life where their next pay day was always one scam away, and always on the move. However, in time the man tired of her, and he sought affections elsewhere. Allora was cast out, but too proud to go back to Lucas. A few years later Lucas got word that she died of some wasting disease she had picked up from a patron while she had been working in a brothel.

Torin mourned deeply, and always devoted to his mother (the one constant in his life) he blamed Lucas somehow for all of it. More recently, he is starting to realize that perhaps he was being a bit unfair. He did not shed a tear when he learned of Lucas' death but it did soften his harsh emotions towards him somewhat, and he's willing to start anew with Lucas' son, Corwyn.

Torin is now an adventurer by trade, and he started his career in Parm. (OOC: also gets a bonus in Osslamar)

Karden (deceased)

Karden NiTessine.jpg

The illegitimate half-brother of Corwyn, Karden Ni'Tessine was an adventurer by trade. He was well aware that Lucas Ni'Tessine was his father. Indeed, while he was raised in a different home he was nonetheless known and welcome by Corwyn and Lucas (though not by Lucas' wife!). The Ni'Tessine's were still just commoners at this point, and lived in a relatively small community. Karden and Corwyn in fact grew up together, Karden being only two years older than Corwyn, and they used to play games together along with Erkenbrand Rilacher and the other youth of the area.

That all changed when the Ni'Tessine family was recognized as nobility, however. Corwyn quickly distanced himself from his childhood friend and half-brother. For his part Karden understood the sudden change in Corwyn's attitude, though it hurt all the same. Though Corwyn would disavow any association with Karden, and for his part Karden never mentioned his last name, the two still kept in contact. Corwyn fed him information from his scribes, and Karden took to hunting undead and monsters in the area around Corwyn's estate.

Karden was starting to make a name for himself, not for his skill with a sword, but rather for repairing and finding unique items.

On Nov 15th, after being tortured, he was killed by Lady Gabriella Kinsey, and the unique item on him at the time was stolen from him.
