International Beluaterran News Zod under new Management        29th September 2007 Fronen's southern neighbor continues to get smaller and smaller. The Stronghold Zod, formerly in the heart of Avalon revolted against their leadership to join Plergoth. However, since that coup, another has taken place. Apparently the peasants their have ecome disenchanted with Plergoth as well choosing instead to join Fwuvoghor. While the Fwuvoghoran King Felmoure I, personally thinks that Fwuvoghor should return the stronghold to its original owner, higher-ups in the paradoxical Republican Monarchy have disagreed. As a majority of Fwuvoghoran Ministers want to keep the territory, the King has conceded political defeat and has announced to Avalonian Chancellor Scarlet that if Avalon wants it back they will have to fight Fwuvoghor or purchase the fortress back. This contrasts with Fronenian claims on former Avalonian territories because we at least had Scarlet's permission to keep the regions. Tough break for Avalon to be sure. By Alexius DeSyrr Undead Actions        29th September 2007 The Necromancer's Servants have been doing some interesting things of late. In the past two days, Lord Summoner has delivered an ultimatum to the people of Riombara and has announced the undead are hunting someone. Lets start with the ultimatum. As you the readers should know, the undead have betrayed their human allies and have over the past few weeks been pummeling Riombara in battle. Now, after seizing Grehk and some southern portions of the country the undead say they want to control all the lands surrounding the Great Southern Sea. They plan to seize the regions by force or by diplomacy. Here's what the undead demand of Riombara in exchange for peace: 1. The promise that no Riombaran soldiers (save guards of traders) will leave Athol Margos 2. Riombara will not attack any undead Champions and the undead will not attack any Riombaran TLs. 3. The undead can take any Riombaran region they want save Athol. Riombara can take regions back only with Summoner's permission. As of now a referendum is going on in Riombara to decide whether or not to agree to these demands. Prime Minister Delvin supports the agreement, while Defense Minister Herkan dissents. Let us now look to another of Summoner's ultimatums. He said quote: Every single realm that Jana is found residing in, being a citizen of, or being allowed free passage, will suffer the wrath of the Undead. To this point we have been doing what the Daimons have requested of us, but not with full gusto. If you truly wish to see us carry out our orders beyond minimum, you need only harbor this criminal to see what we are really capable of doing. As you can see, Summoner's words are a swell of ire. Why the outrage? Beluaterra's Judges believe it's because Jana has stolen a ring of Summoner's. She has spent some time in Enweil and was last seen in Ashborn. By Alexius DeSyrr Daimons Devour Food Stocks: Since when do they have an appetite?        26th September 2007 Since just now it appears! Recently Fronenian bureaucrats in Wudenkin (myself included) have noticed that the Daimons seem to be targeting regions with large granaries and food storage buildings. Once the savages find the food they proceed to tear it up and gobble it all down as they would a person. The observations we've made have also been spotted elsewhere. The Meshan Finance Minister has observed the same phenomena. It looks like now the Daimons can no longer sustain themselves eating people and desire a more balanced diet, otherwise as Minister Blaeric of Poitra observes quote: "As many as 60 at a time have been confirmed to have died in a single half day from starvation after the food stocks were removed from a region." The Minister later suggests to his liege, the Chancellor of Mesh that they remove their food stocks from regions where Daimons are located or appear to be heading towards. Subsequently, Chancellor Danny has asked rulers to do the same hoping that for the collective benefit of the Belauterran nations, the rulers and nobles of other countries work to starve and weaken the Daimons, our mutual enemy. (Well enemy to all nations save Sint, Heen, and Vlaanderen). Our Prime Minister Grego has reacted favorably towards this idea. Finance Minister Cloud has yet to comment. If successful, not only would such a strategy weaken the Daimonic hordes, but it would also ensure Fronen's regions (which are now in a degrading fast due to Daimon attacks) would remain adequately stocked with provision that will help keep the people's morale and loyalty from falling too low. So, hats off to Mesh. Hopefully, the idea will work and the plan will be a great success. By Alexius DeSyrr Riombara in dire straits        20th September 2007 Dark days for the southern Republic of Riombara, a federated ally of Fronen. The nation is now under attack by both Daimonic and skeletal forces. After the Necromancer's Servants betrayed their human allies, they proceeded to attack Riombara. They are now laying siege to both the capital Athol Margos and the great city Rines simultaneously by holding the two rural regions on the island which those cities lay on. The two non-human factions are preventing Riombarans from reaching their southern regions which are quickly declaring independence. It should be noted that the Necromancer's Servants have announced to the human nations that they claim all "rogue" independent regions. So it is expected that the will protect the regions that did indeed rebel. As of now Alluranian troops are attempting to aid Riombara and Fronen is just now sending a relief force to aid the troubled partner, but they may be too late. Conservative estimates say the troops attacking Riombara are 35000 CS strong, while Avalon to the north of Riombara has 90000 CS of Daimons to deal with that have been heading southwards in Riombara's direction. Even with help from Alluran, Fronen, Irombrozia, Luz, Enweil, etc it will still be an immensely difficult task to free Riombara again. http://uk.games-workshop.com/tombkings/chariot-race/images/chariot-art.jpg Image: Undead forces attacking Riombara By Alexius DeSyrr Update on Vlaanderen        14th September 2007 In the two days since the last article on Vlaanderen was written some stunning new developments have occurred. It seems Vlaanderen has become the third nation to forge a ceasefire of sorts with the Daimonic forces. Reports and inside information tell us that after some discussion, a deal was brokered between the Vlaandereeni higher-ups and the Dreadlord Arcane. Arcane was given lordship over the mountainous region Zisswii and its people. While the region still flies the banner of Vlaanderen, having a Daimon as a lord has caused some dissent Vlaanderen. Little more than that is known. For the sake of fairness, we asked both the King and Arch Judge of the kingdom about this issue. More rumors abound in Fwuvoghor about the undead. We've heard from a dubious source that the Dreadlord Silent was spotted giving orders to the undead Lord Venganza and Maldiciones. All the Fwuvoghor information though must be taken with a grain of salt unless the knowledge can be verified by a second, trustworthy source. By Alexius DeSyrr Daimons in Vlaanderen!        12th September 2007 If you haven't heard the news or have seen reports you probably expect this to be about some sort of Daimon attack in Vlaanderen. Those guys do find themselves attacked quite a bit in this war between the non-human species don't they? Interestingly though, this time Vlaanderen is fine. The Daimons in Vlaanderen are not acting aggressively at all. In fact, reports show that Dreadlord Arcane has actually joined the central Beluaterran kingdom. Whether this is a positive or negative change for Vlaanderen remains unknown. While their military power has skyrocketed in the past few days, sentiment among the kingdom's nobles have been mixed. Their Chief Justice Lord Valhalla, has said quote "I am not happy about this Netherworld demon being in Vlaanderen, but there is little I can do to stop that at the moment." By contrast, the King of Vlaandern, Nymatal I said this "I have a feeling that he may very well decide to help us fight the other Daimons." Information is still sketchy and the Daimons true purpose is still unknown. Some, including Fronen's Prime Minister are becoming leery of a possibly Monster-Daimon alliance. The Daimons seem to be contacting only monster allies with secret information. As we know, the Dreadlord Living has joined Sint and spoken with the Sintian and Heenite leaders. Now Arcane is contacting Vlaanderen. All three are monster allies. No undead allies have received this sort of attention. However, the Monster Beastlord Big Fangs has denied allegations of an alliance between the Monsters and Daimons saying things like "Many comrades back on island now, hope do something get rid of Daimons for good." and "Must destroy Daimons in end. Stop them coming back this world." Clearly, there is still no consensus on this crucial issue. By Alexius DeSyrr Skeletal Surrender?        8th September 2007 The reasons for the undead disappearance are now becoming clear. In a recent Letter, the Undead Lord Summoner describes that all is lost for the undead. Heaping blame upon their human allies, Summoner states that because the five unique items were not given to the undead originally, they could not close the portal. Trying another tactic, the undead decided to fight them with everything they had on Beluaterra, neglecting the Abyss. Unfortunately the Daimons managed to reach the undead's "gate" in Riombara. This is also blamed on humanity (Although it would've been nice for them to have mentioned this earlier...) Summoner ends his letter by asking humans to slay the undead, because "Daimon control is absolute." So while this may be some sort of trick or ploy, perhaps a feigned retreat to trick the Daimons, or a hidden plan to take over human lands or something. Taken at face value it appears the undead will soon cease to play a major role in the Daimon Conflict. This does not bode well for the many former allies of the Necromancer's Servants. By Alexius DeSyrr Secret Meetings        5th September 2007 A little less than two weeks ago, Queen Martana of Heen and the Sintian Pontiff Bocephus met with a stranger in Tahgalez Tower. A former Heenite Duke of that Stronghold has only recently revealed that the two both met with a Daimon called "Living" that day. Apparantly, this Daimon is able to speak common tongue, the language of most humans. He payed both rulers somewhere between 500 and 1000 gold pieces. What was said is not known. Neither the Queen nor the Pontifex are revealing what agreements were made and what information was exchanged that day. A logical guess might be that the Daimons paid the two realms to not fight them. The gold could be a bribe to keep the western realms at bay. She only admits that a meeting did take place in Tahgalez. By Alexius DeSyrr Missing Allies and Major Battles        4th September 2007 This morning two new developments arose in the Continent wide battle against the Daimonic Netherworld. First, in the south coalition forces consisting of Riombara, Caras Galadhon, Luz de Bia, Irombro, Alluran, Enweil, and the undead fought the Daimon Hordes of Dreadlord Arcane. The estimated strengths of both sides? Coalition forces were about 34000 CS strong compared to the 26000 CS Daimons. Similar to an earlier battle in Fronen, this battle was technically a victory for the Daimons. However, the Dreadlord leading the so-called victors died in the attempt. Because of this, the Daimons left in Ardmore should disappear soon and pose no more threat to the southern states. New updates: on the Coalition's Undead allies in the South. Apparantly, Vicious was alone for a time in his army camp when all of a sudden screams were heard from his tent. From that point on Vicious could not be found. His troops, some 9000 CS worth of troops have become a rogue army and have begun a brutal takeover of Avengmil. Equally startling, the undead who were until now allies with many nations on the Continent, now have lowered relations and alliance status with all but Melhed, even though no undead nobles let alone one with the ability to make diplomatic changes remains on Beluaterra. In addition to these diplomatic changes, the Necromancer's Servants have also declared war on Plergoth The reasons for these new updates are at this moment, mere speculations. By Alexius DeSyrr New Reports from the North        4th September 2007 In contrast to the situation in the south, the Pontifex of Sint, Lord Bocephus paints a bleak picture of his nation's future. He has been quoted as saying "I have just received news that the Daimons plan on attacking and destroying our capital of Firbalt... Sint will be destroyed if do this but Sint is nothing without Firbalt anyway." His announcement of a Daimon plan to obliterate the city of Firbalt specifically may sound fanciful, but reports show that a Daimon force of over 90000 CS all lead by one Dreadlord called "Devastating," is in the area. That sort of Horde would be sufficient to eliminate any human nation on the continent. Sint, and the states near it are clearly in for the fight of their lives. We'll continue to keep you updated. By Alexius DeSyrr Slaughter Discovered in Fianik        1st September 2007 Yesterday, when the coalition of Western Forces (Heen, Sint, and Plergoth) entered the city of Fianik, and the charred shoals of Binoaramet, a gruesome discovery was made. In the middle of the night, the inhabitants of the two regions began to come out of the buildings of the city. The inhabitants though, oddly lacked skin, and muscle... and vital organs. The citizens of Fianik and Binoaramet it seems were slaughtered by the Daimons and subsequently turned into the walking dead. We asked the Undead leader Summoner what he knows of the situation and whter he has any sway over these undead, but he did not respond to our queries. Whether these undead are the Daimon's newest slaves, or the Necomancer's newest allies is still unknown. By Alexius DeSyrr

Domestic News Mhed's First Fight, and the state of Fronen 29th September 2007 Since the beginning of this month Fronen has had mixed progress. On the one hand our nation has grown considerably with the addition of Beluaterra's second largest city and a rural region. We also have successfully weakened our Daimonic enemies. The most recent success was in Mhed where the city militia alone were enough to stop a Daimonic Horde. None of these Mhedians had ever seen battle either. This is a good sign that Fronen's military training regimen is superb. All positive signs. On the negative though, we've been hit hard and our military might has waned in the defense of our Republic. Our regions have become less stable as people seek for more and faster success, particularly in border regions. We've lost a faithful hero of the Republic. Perhaps the most dangerous update has been the depletion of Fronen's National Reserve. The money we saved in preparation for this war is now just about empty, with an insufficient 150 gold pieces in the vaults that once stored thousands. Fronen still needs more nobles to fight and more estates to keep regions in good condition. Seriously, if anyone is thinking of immigrating come to Fronen. We need you. A new month is upon our doorstep. Perhaps more definitive success will come in October? One thing's for sure though, The Face of Fronen will still be just as informative as ever. Stay classy Beluaterra. By Alexius DeSyrr Death of a Comrade: Tragedy befalls a Hero 26th September 2007 This morning, long-time Fronenian Lord Perrin "Goldeneyes" Stien passed away. The man died an honorable hero's death defending his Republic and people from the Daimonic threat in Marpii. While fighting hand to hand with a Dreadlord, a flying Daimon swooped down and dropped a large rock, damaging the brain enough to kill Lord Perrin. After the battle, Perrin's body was removed and taken to a coroner. His body is now on its way to the mountains of Qual where he is to be buried in a typical Draconic ceremony. Perrin was a former Baron in that region. He also spent time as Finance Minister of the Republic. In honor of Baron Perrin's valor and dedication, the current Lord of Qual has proclaimed that the highest mountain in the region be renamed "Perrin's Peak," and a small village near the mountain be renamed Perrinsford. We would like to thank Perrin for his service Fronen and hope he finds everlasting peace in death. By Alexius DeSyrr Ducal Dilemma 20th September 2007 That's right everyone, the newly added city of Wudenkin needs a Duke. After denying the old duke, Lord Xaero Serra his position back, Prime Minister Grego Nosferatus is looking at the possibilities. As of now, the two front-runners appear to be Lord Cyrus Hyrhion, and Minister Cloud Soulja, the latter being an editor of this paper. Lets take a look at the candidates: Lord Cyrus was formerly Count of Lloringel in central Fronen. He lost the position for unremarkable reasons ((OOC: Paused character)). He is a successful bureaucrat who is working in the city as we speak. He was also a strong supporter of the Republicans during Black January. Lord Cyrus has served the Republic faithfully since November of last year. Minister Cloud is currently serving as Finance Minister. He is proving to be incredibly successful in the role after two controversial Ministers were in and out of the office. The Minister has held various regional lordships over the years and currently administers Lloringel. During Black January, Cloud remained neutral and tried to run for office as an independent "third choice" candidate. Cloud has served Fronen faithfully since March of last year. In addition to these two candidates suggested by Grego himself, two candidates have thrown their hats into the ring. Sir Perrin "Goldeneyes" Stien is a former Finance Minister and former Baron of Qual. He also was a Republican during Black January and has served faithfully since October of last year. Finally, Galvin Blackfeather is also a candidate. Once actually banished from Fronen for sabotage during the War against Avalon, Galvin is now accepted as a fine member of our diverse Republic. He used to be Duke of Cteduul in Avalon and eventually rose to the position of Chancellor there (after our war with them of course), but was overthrown by a coup. He has since joined Fronen, still reeling over the new Avalonian leadership who overthrew him. Galvin has a small following of ex-Avalonians in Fronen, but he may be opposed by incoming Avalonians (see previous article). He has served Fronen faithfully since June of this year. Of course, these are not the only candidates. Another bureaucrat, Rond's name has been mentioned. The popular former Prime Minister Cedric Mordred who just returned to the realm ((OOC: After pausing char)) could be a good choice as well, as could a number of Fronenian nobles. Grego will have a difficult time making this important decision. By Alexius DeSyrr Fronen Stands Strong: West Avalon looks to the Republic for Guidance 20th September 2007 One week ago, the Shejan people made an assault against Avalonian authority. Shortly after, Countess Elzebeth reclaimed the region for Avalon. Today, reports from Fronenian Prime Minister Grego Nosferatus tell us the Countess Elzebeth of Sheja "will most probably join Fronen." This would follow the trend set by Beluaterra's third largest city Wudenkin. The allegiance change result from a number of factors. For one, Prime Minister Grego asked Avalonian leadership if they'd consider giving Fronen a region to help feed Wudenkin. Furthermore, Fronen has been fairly successful in keeping the realm stable and secure in this invasion. Avalon has not met with equal success (although admittedly, they had far more to deal with). Grego's report also tells us that Elzebeth won't join Fronen until the Bureaucracy (currently working hard to fix Wudenkin and Xhahgus) is ready. It has also been suggested that Ippetimbal join Fronen as well, for similar reasons. Prime Minister Grego was quoted as saying: "I have also Asked Scarlet to Contact Lord Otto of Ippetimbal, if Ippetimbal suffers to and the Lord is wiling to swear allegiance to Fronen, then we will take care of that region too." These additions would make close the gap in population between Beluaterra's two superpowers Fronen, and Enweil, although even with the regions, Fronen will almost still remain a close second to the vast Southern Democracy. By Alexius DeSyrr Revolution in Wudenkin 16th September 2007 At dawn, commoners and nobles alike, on both stides of the border were shocked to discover that the grand metropolis of Wudenkin had undergone a Revolution. After having been raided and plundered by Daimonic forces led by Devastating, the people of the city had enough. Not wanting to be conquered by the Daimons, and believing Avalon was incapable of protecting them, the people of Wudenkin turned the the Republic of Fronen for aid, swearing their alliegence to us. There is interesting irony here. Fronen fought a war against Avalon in the past over this very city. Prime Minister Cedric Mordred's lenient post-war diplomacy allowed them, even after being defeated, to keep the city. Fronen only gained The Vale and The Corian Coast. Now, without even drawing a blade, the city has fallen, nay leaped into Fronen's hands. Earlier today the debate over whether or not to return the city to Avalon or not was abruptly ended. The Avalonian Chancellor Scarlet Pelgrim has told our Prime Minister the city is ours atleast for the time being. Fronen now is officially one city and 80000 people stronger. By Alexius DeSyrr Defeat against the Daimons 15th September 2007 Tragedy in Ukh. A coalition force of Fronenian, Melhede, and Valentic troops finally caught up to the fleeing Daimon army led by Dreadlord Invisible. Unfortunately, despite having a strength of 21000 to the Daimon's 15000 fate was not with us. This is especially bad news for Fronen as both Prime Minister Grego Nosferatus, and Defense Minister Tiridius the Guardian were wounded in the conflict. Former Defense Minister Trumpet Bauer has taken temporary control of the military until the Defense Minister is well again. *EDIT* Reports show that although the coalition forces lost th battle in Ukh, Daimon troop strength has been reduced to under 5000 CS. At this level, the threat posed by this specific Daimon army should not be too great. By Alexius DeSyrr Neo-Alliance, Elections, and more Rumors 14th September 2007 Today the Republic of Fronen officiated a military alliance with the fledgling kingdom on the lake, Neo Grehk. After some discussion, the Fronenian government decided that an alliance with Neo Grehk would allow our nations to better protect ourselves against the non-human factions who threaten our mutual security. Whether the alliance lasts longer than this continental invasion is still up in the air. After all, Fronen's had an alliance with Old Grehk for much longer. In other news, Fronen's PM Grego Nosferatus was re-elected with 56% of the popular vote. His nearest candidate is the elder (actually the nation's Eldest) statesman, Adras Tang, who reeled in 21% of the vote. We've got new ballot boxes that were monitored quite well some mistakes in elections shouldn't occur again. Lastly, rumors circulate that an odd commonor (whom ironically is related by blood to a noble. Don't ask me how!) carries a thing called a Portal Stone, which can open or close portals to other worlds. I've yet to see the magical rock, but if they exist then perhaps humanity will have a better chance at defeating the Daimons. By Alexius DeSyrr Grego's Election Woes 8th September 2007 Recently, Fronen's government has been in a state of internal turmoil. Two days ago, our Prime Minister Grego Nosferatus was captured, then immediately released from a Monster prison. Because of his brief prison time, Grego lost his position as custom dictates. Fronen planned to hold an election the next day, however we soon found the ballot box vault to be empty of all but ashes. It seems that a few old peasant tyrannists are sitll around inturrupting th electoral process. Now while a majority of nobles probably would vote for Grego, he still can't officially become PM. Nobody can now until new ballots are remade. ((OOC: This is all actually the result of an irritating bug. Hopefully, it'll be fixed soon.)) By Alexius DeSyrr Xhahgus reclaimed 4th September 2007 This morning, the reclamation of the Hills of Xhahgus has been completed. All fighters for Xhahgian independence have been killed or imprisoned. The Republic of Fronen now once again owns the region and its previous lord, Count Vulcan Phoenix has been reinstated. With the Xhahgian dissenters removed, and the Daimons gone from Fronen's lands, the Republic is much safer and more stable. By Alexius DeSyrr New Issue, Same Leaders 1st September 2007 Since everyone here was impressed with the stylistic changes Nami Shenron brought to this paper, September will have the same look as August's paper. At the top of the month, the state of Fronen is good and strong. The Daimons have left our lands, we are reclaiming the Hills of Xhahgus which declared independence last month. Furthermore, the lords are making an array of changes to their regional governments which should make the homefront more stable. For the elections Grego Nosferatus ran an uncontested bid for re-election as Prime Minister. Grego received 72.2% of the vote. The rest of the ballots went to undeclared, write-in candidates. For Grand Justiciar, I Alexius DeSyrr ran for re-election. The Marquis of Jyl, Lord Reyes Kimball also ran for the office. Here the elections were much closer. I received 45.6% of the vote. Lord Reyes received 25.3% of the vote. Therefore, I will continue my duties as Grand Justiciar as I received a plurality of votes. Reyes did make a strong showing however, and it seems that Fronen also views him as a good candidate. We will continue to update you with news conerning Fronen throughout the month. By Alexius DeSyrr
