Editor Mathros  The white city breached! 30 January 1012 Today the city of Ibladesh itself was finally breached by overwhelming odds of combined Caligun and Perdanese forces. Over three thousand men and over ninety siege engines were used against the half starving seven hundred soldiers inside Ibladesh itself. This was the first time in perhaps over half a year of the war that the two realms of Perdan and Caligus actually met each other as allies on the battlefield. Abraxas Arrakis former Pontifex of Ibladesh and Elder Saint in the church of Ibladesh was slain in the final push by Perdan’s General; Atanamir of Umbar. Atanamir who led Perdan's army throughout the reign of two kings and a queen has shown considerable merit as a tactician throughout the war as well as most presently on the battlefield itself. The Arrakis’ exile and destruction of all segments of the church of Ibladesh were part of the demands that Ibladesh refused to agree to. In their refusal Perdan and Caligus continued the war to its present conclusion. The remaining Ibladeshi nobles took to the walls in a last stand against the enemy. Further fighting broke out later today between Ibladeshi survivors who had retreated to the temple but this was ultimately a futile effort against the occupying force. This surely marks the end of the theocracy of Ibladesh. Peace with Sirion Peace with SIrion was today achieved showing that Westmoor’s diplomatic relations, due to the efforts of King Jor, continue to climb. Peace with Sirion has been a somewhat challenging road but thanks to the efforts of both Primeminister Ilias and the council our two realms were able to overcome our differences and form a bond of peace between our two realms. This leaves only the realm of Fontan which still refuses to sign a peace with us. Fontan's council has set a new date to discuss the matter sometime in the year 1033.  Fontan's request for city of origin denied 25 January 1012 King Dobromir Menethil today wrote to all rulers of the East Continent replying to Chancellor Zadek's request for the return of Fontan city. The answer was a resounding no. The letter which you can see for yourself on our letter's page criticised Fontan for making contact with Caligus only to request back their former city based on a hollow friendship. King Dobromir in his letter passed on his doubts about Fontan's national church the flow which he described as 'corrupt'. His comments on the other realms of the continent (excluding Fontan) were all of a positive nature and included words of support for the new realms of the south Eponllyn and Armonia and words of good will for Perdan, Sirion, Westmoor and the Obsidian Islanders. The Caligun King also accused Fontan of being a haven for nobles of the long dead realm of Yssaria whom he felt would be natural enemies of Caligus.  Chaos in Gadlock! 23 January 1012 The region of Gadlock for the last few days has been in state of flux. As you will be able to see in regional news they first rebelled against the Obsidian islanders back on the 21st installing James Talratheon as their new lord and joining Westmoor. But two days later (today) the unruly peasants again decided to rebel kicking out Sir James and proclaiming Marshal of the WC Ravier Nebehn as their new lord. King Jor has made clear to Westmoor and the Obsidian Islanders that Westmoor holds no claim over the region. As ally to the islanders we will be restoring the region as much as we possibly can (after all this is Gadlock we're talking about...) while the islanders get to grips with the city of Kazakh. Once the region is suitably stable it will be returned to the islanders. These peasants cannot be allowed to get away with this anarchic nonsense. On the bright side Morale in Gadlock has reached a high after all the revolutions making repairs easier. The WC is camped out in Gadlock today attempting to restore order.  Sirion's General Retires 14 January 1012 Zakilevo Lapallanch retires as head of Sirion's military today. Zakilevo took over back in August of last year when then General Ilias rose to become Primeminister of Sirion. In his retirement speech (which you can find in his family page) he is less than boastful of his achievements, but none can doubt that the destruction of an entire realm is not a mark in history. During this period there was of course the disaster attack on Oroya back on the 16th of August but later the much better prepared battles, the sacking of Kazakh for instance after which Sirion was able to maintain its choke on the Sultanate and force the realm to its knees. Who will next take up the mantle of the multiple army of the elves?  Edward Anthony Mercer wins second place in Avamar! 13 January 1012 In what was truly a great showing for Westmoor Edward Anthony was narrowly beaten by Sir Kenarth Anaris in the final round of the Avamar Tournament today. This means along with the honour Sir Edward will also return to his position at the Royal Guard with a sizable bounty of three hundred gold pieces. Sir Edward was not the only knight from Westmoor to star highly. Iziaslav Principe was also in the semi finals making Kenarth's last two opponents Westmoorian. The last few rounds were also bright with faces from all corners of Westmoor giving us a very strong showing in Avamar. Our congratulations go out too all who participated.  January thumb twiddling 11 January 1012 During our absense a couple of things happened. Sir Ilias was relected as Prime Minister of Sirion and Fontan elected Zadek Dragul as its new chancellor. There has still been no word from Fontan and we're beginning to wonder if there is ever going to be. You would think that a new chancellor would have time to contact Westmoor in the space of a week but it seems not. In Sirion as well as continuing the reign of Prime Minister Ilias (who seems to us to be a just and fair man) Erik Eyolf Serpentis has started a tournament for sword fighting open to all nobles of the realm in Avamar. Ravier Nebehn Marshal of the Westmoorian Collumn has decided to attend the tournament as representitive of Westmoor. We all wish him good luck. In other news According to the Obsidian News we've moved up a place in the realm rankings to 4th place. This is mostly due to the meteoric falling of Ibladesh from top to bottom of the tables although we like to think that our recent sucess in diplomacy had some leverage. The Obsidian Islanders are having some trouble keeping hold of Kazakh and the other former Sultanate regions due to one of their Dukes mysteriously going missing. Westmoor has every intention of supporting the islanders with their footing on the mainland.

Getting a new lord results in the peasants being much more hopeful and content with their lot. Morale rises 15%, loyalty rises 7%, and independence falls. Having made their choice and seen it happen, the peasants seem much more hopeful and content with their lot. Erik Eyolf Serpentis, Duke of Avamar has announced a tournament of Swordfighting to be held in Avamar 5 days from now. There will be a charge of 20 gold for every participant. The winner will be rewarded with 600 gold in addition to the honour and prestige that his victory will earn him. There will also be a reward of 300 gold for the second best. All nobles of the continent are welcome on the tournament grounds on the day of this event.
