Scratch-built Photoshop-made banner and crest for Morek
As a theocracy I drew the crest for Morek as this:
The shield: The armour of their faith, impenetrable, with the white cross the symbol of their purity.
The mailled fist: The symbol of enforcement, with the realm willing to defend itself and it's beliefs without question and with force if necessary.

Black background and golden Wreath: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/images/Schild3.jpg
Maroon background with golden Wreath: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/images/Schild4.jpg
The meaning:
Gold (Or) :Generosity and elevation of the mind
and Red :Warrior or martyr; Military strength and magnanimity
The Eagle: Person of noble nature, strength, bravery, and alertness; or one who is high-spirited, ingenious, quick-witted, and judicious. The open wings stand for protection.
The Helmet: denotes wisdom and security in defence; strength, protection, invulnerability. The open vizier stand for facing the enemy without fear, from man to man as a honourable and courages soldier.
The Wreath of laurel leaves: stands for Triumph.
It fits the best for Madina: Forests and hills are the home for the Eagle. Security and strength in defence (helmet) due to natural waterways and island. This defensive advantage gives protection (open wings) to those who live in the only republic.

This is specficially designed for Madina. Sadly I'm not the world's greatest artist, but I do my best, created by hand using some free-to-download paint program.
You will see that the banner is dominated by the island Madi, from which Madina gets its name. The island brings religion and prosperity to the realm (the gold coins and cross at the top).
The blue background signifies the sea, which, together with the hills and trees depicted, show the landscape for which Madina is known. Beneath the hill of Madi, in the sea, swim many of the native fish, which provide food to the realm - and it is said that when the fish population is strong, Madina is strong.
Finally, at the bottom, the hammer and weapon show that Madina is a strong and just republic that can fight to defend itself.
The icon is a mini-version of the banner, but in the form of a shield. Oh, and I hope I've got the right file format for the icon. Bigger version of the banner available if needed.

Explanation
I chose this because I think we need a xenophobic realm. Something with a different, NEW culture. No hating on anybody though :p
The flag looks like this after 3... counties(?) before it united to form Pian en Luries. They were Pian, Pom Luri, and Ringo Luri (no big jump there). Thus, Pian in Luries! (Geti it!?) George the Hippy 23:05, 20 August 2007 (CEST)

(Based off of the Celtic cross) A potential banner for the realm of Springdale.
Shape: Cross- The cross represents strength and durability, symbolic for the might of the realm’s cities and the centralized institution of the monarchy.
Circle- The circle’s position reinforces any weak points along the cross itself, indicative of the smaller towns and rural populations supporting the realm as a whole.
Colors:
Silver- The streaks of silver are intended to show the wealth and opulence of the realm’s cities, as well as the polished gray walls of their powerful fortifications.
Green- The majority of green corresponds to the importance of the plains and grasslands the realm stands on, providing a foundation for further growth.

Devercia's Submissions
EDIT: added banners and went "all out" on the wavy effect as Tom suggested, aswell as changed Morek's field color from black to green
Original material, no suplementals used, scratch.
Pian, Was going for an earthy feel with muted orange as a contrast. the balls symbolizing the fruits of the nations efforts, the upper pattern symbolizing the ruggedness of the people.
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc148/Devercia/Pian2-1.jpg http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc148/Devercia/Pianicon.png
Madina I decided that patterns and multiple color combos would best creat the feel of a more urbane culture while still maintaining a rugged earthiness for the sake of the setting.
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc148/Devercia/Madina2-1.jpg http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc148/Devercia/Madinaicon.png
Morek: I wanted to make a fanatical looking banner, the three stars being some sort of divine symbol and the swords and "hands" at the bottom showing the fierocity of that faiths defence, also reflected in the colors.

Got more to come but this is my first, made by my self. All appropriate sources listed below the banner. This banner would suit all the realms (did this on purpose for vaguivity so it can go any where). It's a stone banner with a church like persona so it could fix it's self with a Monarchy (Castle/throne like), as well as a Religious banner (Church-like).
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/jonno88/1stdraft.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/jonno88/stoneicon.jpg
Heres the image I used for the pattern on the shield; [4] The dragon which is the focal point of my banner; [5] And this is the templace to get the right shape for my shield; [6]
Seccond banner, would suit Morek due to the Scroll, giving off the impression of a religious nature:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/jonno88/scrollnsword.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/jonno88/logosmallf.jpg
Only soures are; [7] It's the swords at the back of the banner. The scroll is made from scratch and the stand before it is an adaption of a photo I've taken.
I'll have logo versions of them both done for tommorrow, I have them saved in multiple different formats so it's easy to change the colour of the canvas, and I imagine the swords from my seccond banner wouldn't look very good in a low resolution picture so they can be easily removed. This also allows me to easily edit the images should any part of them be unsuitable.
The text is also written by me, I won't say what it says now but given the oppertunity it will be the basis of all the text and teachings in the religion of Morek (providing you find it suitable for Morek).

I would say this is for Morek. The horizon of a setting sun, with a religious symbol. (The symbol was created by me, it doesn't really have any meaning. Left open for the one who wants to give it meaning.) Both banner and icon are hand drawn, scanned, and colored in with paint. Not very detailed, but it did it's job.
The icon is the symbol by itself.
This banner could be used for either Springdale or Pian en Luries. A sword with a crown around the hilt to show the mighty king or queen's rule over his/her lands. Hand drawn like Morek's example.
The icon is a simple hawk, taken from [8]. It symbolizes a graceful, yet ambitous nature. The copied hawk picture was changed by me, but the picture was taken from the aforementioned website.
Oh yeah, not well drawn and not a good artist, but hey I gave it a shot.

This flag is intended for Morek. It symbolizes that whatever religion that is established in that realm is centralized, and that both soliers, ie. sword; and common folk, ie.shovel; are willing to keep the faith going on.

This one I found most of it on a photobucket style website I quite liked it so I dled it and spruced it up a bit. It could be for either Morek or Pian more likely Pian because of the fluer de lille and the french-like name. Mdina is a place in Malta (where I live) a large castle and the old capital city during the time of the romans. I thought I would use a Maltese cross as a background and a roman centurion helmet aswell.

Drawn from scratch in photoshop. Rose is clipart, sword and stem is drawn.
The red rose signifies passion and the sword is the will to enforce it. I think it suits Pian en Luries the best since it is a monarchy and the shield bears a crown. But the name on the scroll can be changed to any realm.
Made in photoshop using the kangaroo from the kangaroo crossing signs seen in Australia. I didn't spend as much time on this one, because I'm not sure of the chances of a kangaroo being picked for a realm icon... but I like the idea. ;)

Darby Family Submissions
This is my submission for Madina (and I apparently can't spell). There were no specified cultures so I decided to invent one so I could make a culturally relevant banner. The culture I made is a Matriarchal culture in which the ruling caste of women feel that warfare is a base activity and thus beneath them. They prize things like wisdom, ingenuity, and trade. The motto translates to "Beware the man of one book." ("man" being genderless). The various images I used came from the following sources: [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]
Any of the pieces can be changed, and I will likely have to make the wreath at the top lighter before it is used.
