Wilbrand was born in 47 YD as the son of Otto the Falcon and Heilwig of Ardast. When his parents died two years later during a monster attack, Wilbrand was raised by his step-aunt, Liutgard. In order to keep a family tradition alive, Liutgard decided to teach Wilbrand the art of falconry - something Otto had once learned from his father. So she gave Wilbrand a peregrin, which was named after Otto. This made Wilbrand feel like his father was still with him.

When Wilbrand grew older, he took two other birds, naming them after his uncles, Reynold and Waldger. They, too, were peregrines, although he had fantasized about taking gyrs, but even in the untamed lands of Dwilight, those were reserved for royal blood. As such his entire youth was focused on one thing: hunting – starting with the little critters in the field and eventually the giants which walked the plain. But unlike his cousins, he never espoused the danger an dreamed of safer places.

When Gerulf the Wise died at the Battle of Mimer, Wilbrand decided to migrate to the East Continent, hoping to find peace. He arrived at Fontan and was given land by Cyria Wilde, but when a hedge knight, Eloi Mattani, challenged the Patriarch to death, he saw his change to prove himself. However, when Patriarch Nemean renodin JeVondair advised Wilbrand against the duel, Wilbrand instead sought to reason with the hedge knight. Although his attempts failed, he was rewarded with the earldom of An Najaf and a position in the diplomatic council.

During an expedition south he would grow a close friendship with Rujvik Fylkir. Back in Domus, he attended a feast of the Patriarch, and his eye fell on Emdrei, daughter of the Vice-Marshal Tzedvier Bayemvee. While courting the Emdrei, Wilbrand went on regular missions to Shadowdale, hoping to foster good relations and growing very fond of the people.

When his father in law changed his allegiance to Shadowdale, Wilbrand joined him. As such, he was recognized by Caligan soldiers after the Battle in An Najaf and promtply executed for treason at the age of 21. Since he had no brothers, he had appointed in his will his favorite cousin Everhard as his heir.
