Fronen's Allies Victorious

Recently, Riombara has been involved in two major battles. The first in Ardmore was a victory. Riombaran forces defeated troops from Enweil, Luz de Bia, and the Irombrozian rebels. According to Riombaran accounts this was another trap. A small regiment of Riombaran troops waited in Ardmore. Luzian and Enweilean troops came in from the west not realizing a larger division of Riombaran forces moved from Avengmil to reinforce the Ardmore troops. This resulted in the Luz/Enweil/Irombrozia forces fighting a Riombaran force much larger than they anticipated and losing almost twice as many men as Riombara. The greatest loss in this battle? Kakeru, Marshal of the Lion Rose perished defending his country against the enemy forces. The people of Fronen offer their condolences to Kakeru's family and friends.

The second battle involving Riombara was a Luzian Pyrrhic victory. 6000CS of Riombaran troops attaced the Luzian troops trying to conquer Glongin. The Riombaran force was defeated, but so many Luzians were killed that their Brutal Takeover failed.

Changes in Diplomacy

Fronen has recently allied itself with Khthon. The Prime Minister and some Fronenian lords wish to see closer relations with Avalon, Vlaanderen, and of course Khthon. One reason for this change has to do with the Plergothian ruler. Chancellor Artevan of Plergoth was a supporter of the rebels in Fronen's Civil war, as we can see from this document sent from Artevan to the now dead traitor Grimbaldus.

"Grimbaldus,

Kelrond has spoken of you with high regard. I have been told you are an honorable man and I believe you do what you feel necessary. As Plergoth was in a similar state but two month ago I can empathize. Sadly our situation ended differently as we held elections removing the bloated and apathetic (Nymatal, Valhalla, Zechogo) from power and then it was they that rebelled, and that battle is one we fight now to this day. Would that we could help you and were not mired in a 3 on 1 conflict ourselves, I would send whatever aid I could.

May Daishi keep you in your quest, and you return Fronen to its rightful heights, as I would like a strong Fronen and Plergoth to stand together again as Allies.

With honor and regards,

Artevan, Chancellor of Plergoth"

---

There is however some minor opposition who say Vlaanderen is equally at fault because they are giving asylum to some Fronenian rebels, and ask that Fronenian infiltrators do not attack the former rebels. The change in diplomacy could have a major effect in those countries mentioned.

Sic Semper Tyrannis

At 6 o'clock this morning, Grimbaldus Sterksain, traitor to the Republic of Fronen was tortued by rack and subsequently executed by hanging. There has been ongoing discussion in Fronen's house of Lord's over what to do with the prisoner. Although there was some opposition, namely from Count Gilead and myself, a large majority of Fronenian lords supported torture and execution for his crimes: Disturbing the peace, high treason against the republic, and slander among others.

Grimbaldus' body now hangs from the gallows in Senatorial Square, at the center of Fronepu. Fronenian authorities are now considering holding a festival in honor of Grimbaldus' death.

Internal Updates

After a vote in the House of Lords, Marshal (of Homeland Security) Grego has now become Minister Grego. He has been chosen as the new Minister of Defense. Apothes has been reappointed Minister of Finance. We congratulate him on his appointement.

In other news, rebel JeanOlivier Chenier has been deported to the Colonies by Supreme Judge Jelpot of Avalon. It is believed that this action will help bring our two (once enemy) nations closer together.

Finally, Enzeru Bakos, traitor to the Republic is fleeing northwards. Some Fronenian nobles (myself included) are busy chasing him preparing to bring him to justice.

A summary and a loss

While I am certain the whole Continent had its eyes gazed intently on Fronen. Now the The Facts of Fronen's Crisis are revealed to all. My co-editor LouisJoesph joined the forces of Grimbaldus. Therefore, I will banish him as soon as possible. I ask any Fronenian noble who wishes to join me as my new co-editor can send me a message at the Fronepu High Court.

Closing Borders

Prime Minister Retravic of Fwuvoghor hs recently sent out this message:

"As you know, the Republic of Fwuvoghor is a member of the Ceded City Alliance. Some of you may also beware that we have a temporary alliance with Riombara - one forged by Dirrik. Currently there is a conflict between these two alliances - Irombrozia, a member of the CCA, is at war with Riombara. After much thought on the subject, I have decided that RoF's treaty with the CCA has priority over the temporary alliance with Riombara. As such, relations with Riombara will be lowered to neutral. RoF will not make any hostile moves.

With this change of stance something else also happens. The gateway to Riombara, Fwuvoghor, hereby closes her borders to all seeking to provide assistance to Riombara."

The Republic of Fwuvoghor's capital city Fwuvoghor is one of two routes one can take to reach Riombara. The other is the southern route, that one is blocked by Luz de Bia and Enweil. Fronen, being Riombara's staunchest ally will be most affected by this. Until this point, Fronen and Fwuvoghor have had good relations, however this change of policy will almost certainly strain the relationship between our two Republics.

Fronenian Elections

And so, after a not-so-hot campaign, Duke Enzeru of Mhed won, unconstested, his bid as Prime Minister of Fronen. After the decision of former Prime Minister Cedric not to run again, after some rather vocal oposition as to how some things were being done, sir Enzeru had announced he would run, and with no one opposing the idea, a few weeks later it happened. The trop three bids were:

  • Enzeru 153 59.8 %
  • Tiridius 16 6.3 %
  • Beowulf 16 6.3 %

As for the Grand Justiciar, after the campaign, filled with bad puns, which got more or less heated at times, of Krider, Beowulf, and my partner journalist Alexius. Krider running a mainly pro-status quo campaign, and the two others planning on the draft on a constitution. Though the two latter both wanted a constitution, and with their votes combined one of them would have won, some other important differences between the two candidates would have driven some of their votes to vote for Krider instead of the other pro-constitional candidate, making Krider the favored candidate no matter who would have ran. The results were:

  • Krider 46 31.7 %
  • Beowulf 26 17.9 %
  • Alexius 21 14.5 %
