House Osha Timeline

Alfred

The youngest son of Sera.

The result of a political union between his father and another noble house, this union for a long time marked the highlight of Alfred's usefulness to House Osha. Unlike other offspring of the House, Alfred remained at the family estate in Irdalni for a handful of years beyond reaching manhood. Eventually, he was forced into taking a ship to Dwilight to start a new life in Springdale.

Upon arriving in Springdale, Alfred was quickly caught up in a scheme that eventually deposed the tyrant King Attius Miriel. This saw Alfred's ascendancy from a minor position of martial leadership to that of Adjunct to the new Emperor. Shortly after that, Alfred also became Duke of Nifelhold. Despite becoming one of the most powerful men in the Empire, Alfred found his new responsibilities too much to bear. Indecisiveness and inexperience quickly saw Alfred's strength and influence diminished and eventually Alfred withdrew from public life completely, renouncing his titles as he did so.

Shortly after withdrawing from public life in Springdale, Alfred emigrated to Beluaterra to join his uncle, Attila, in Valhus. There once again, Alfred was drawn into wider events culminating in his appointment as Duke of Wudenkin after the violent overthrow of Emperor Valhalla Valentine. Despite receiving this honour, he abandoned Valhus for Bara'Khur just a few days later after the new ruler dared to appoint a freeman as her new Minister of Defence.

Attila

Uniquely, Attila is a member of House Osha by adoption instead of by blood.

Attila's career started sooner than expected when he was ship wrecked off the coast of the South-West Island on a trading journey. Attila wasted no time in using the Oshan name to become a noble of Ikalak. After distinguishing himself in the eyes of Duke Fura Lious (a family friend), Attila was granted Lordship of Endelee. However it was not long before Attila went to look for a lost kinswoman in Beluaterra.

After arriving in Beluaterra, Attila swiftly joined the reborn realm of Vice which his lost kin had been a part of long ago. It wasn't long before Attila had experienced most of the positions of power in the realm, with few other nobles of Vice having anywhere near the prestige of the Osha name or indeed the skill to fill those positions. Of course though, it was not to last and Attila eventually relinquished his grasp on political power to become Duke of Latlan. A choice he quickly rued after the lacklustre performance of his successors in the council. Though it did afford Attila the opportunity to restore Latlan's infrastructure and defences after years of neglect.

Eventually, Attila grew tired of life in Vice after seeing the damage the state religion, Hedonism, had caused to Vice' chances in the war it had waged since it's rebirth. Finally accepting that his niece was probably gone forever and that Vice' continued existence would cause only more harm than good to the people of the desert, Attila swore an oath of fealty to King Scion the Skilled and declared the Duchy of Latlan a part of the Kingdom of Heen. This action had immediate repercussions within the Western Badlands, and the Reunification War was effectively ended in one fell swoop.

Attila remained within Heen for a long time after that, though he lost command of Latlan due to prolonged periods of illness. He was viewed with suspicion in some circles not only because of his belief in Estahsism but for the controversial outspokenness that usually accompanies any appointment to a position of power. Age seems to have softened the man however, with his tenure as Grand Vizier being largely a peaceful one.

Upon the founding of Valhus in Wudenkin, Attila decided to join the fledgling new realm and offer his talents as a trader in order to support the war torn regions of Valhus. Attila's action proved pivotal in ensuring Valhus' survival and he quickly became a popular and powerful member of government. Despite public shows of unity with the Emperor Valhalla however, Attila's relationship with the Emperor was distinctly soured by the sacking of an Estahsism temple and the frequent forays the Emperor made beyond his station. This did not stop him receiving appointment as Viscount of Pel Mark however.

Towards the end of Valhus' life, Attila was approached by the rebel movement within Valhus who had tired of the Emperor's rule. Although not willing to personally take up a blade against his ruler, Attila decided to help the rebels in their cause and dismissed the entirety of the palace guard in his capacity as Grand Marshal of Valhus. It was enough to give the rebels victory in a short rebellion, but too late to save Valhus, with the new ruler turning out to be even more unfavourable than the last. In disgust, Attila joined the realm of Bara'Khur, taking his region with him and beginning the final dissolution of Valhus.

Barbar

Dimon

Dimon is the illegitimate (and only) son of Attila.

Dimon was brought up in Ikalak as part of a merchant family. For years, Dimon was perplexed as to why when times were hard, modest sums of money would be inexplicably received by the family. It was only when he became a young adult, that Dimon learned the truth of his lineage. That he was the son of an Osha. Vowing to become a fully fledged Knight like his father, Dimon went to make a life for himself in Beluaterra, leaving his old family behind.

Malice

A portrait of Malice Osha by Dafayo Vashmere, former Master of the Royal Mint.

The foremost member of House Osha and unrivalled Patriach of the House.

Revan

Revan has the dual honour of being the oldest surviving member of the House, and one of the three brothers Osha who first set out to spread the Oshan name all those years ago. However, Revan has not been seen since briefly leading the armies of the fledgling Kingdom of Alluran. This followed his flight from the Colonies, where Revan's defection to Outer Tilog had helped rekindle the old Giblot fire.

Some have suggested that Revan may now be dead, but none amongst the House believes such tales. The man who once had a blood lust that outpaced that of Sera, and a deviousness of the same legendary proportions as the tyrant Thanatos could not have died so young. Wherever Revan now resides, most Oshan's believe he simply waits for the day his unique brands of havoc and leadership are required once again.

Revan the Younger

The only son of Revan.

Revan the Younger was sent to the court of his uncle, King Malice, shortly before his father betrayed Giblot. Although Revan the Younger still retained a handful of uncouth habits and mannerisms from his father, his time served in King Malice' court went a long way towards civilising the young Revan. Though sadly not completely.

During the Falasan-Eston conflict, Revan defied the explicit wishes of his uncle and left the royal court to join the army. After abortive attempts by the Lord Steward to return young Revan to the safety of the court, King Malice reluctantly left his wayward relative to his own devices. At least, that's what Revan thought. In Barad Falas however, Revan was forcibly put on a ship to Beluaterra - far away from his uncle.

Upon his arrival in Beluaterra, Revan immediately met up with another uncle, who also had little time for the young nephew. Thus, tired of being under the wing of bored relatives, Revan made for the Kingdom of Old Grehk in search of war and glory. For a time Revan served as Count of Mekoter, though he now desperately wanders the continent alone in search of the Legendary Longsword of Ypsilanti, having lost it in a doomed defence of his County at the height of the Third Invasion.

Rinoa

The only daughter of Barbar.

Rinoa was the first member of House Osha to be born and raised in Irdalni as opposed to Koolaris further north. Shortly after the death of her father in battle with Oritolonese forces, Rinoa inherited her fathers place amongst the Alowcan nobility and even managed to reclaim the Barony of Irdalni in the name of House Osha. Despite her seeming loyalty and commitment to Alowca and the Trinity, Rinoa became increasingly disillusioned with the perceived Silence of the Deities and eventually fled to Beluaterra to find new gods abroad.

Alighting in Latlan after a long voyage across the sea, Rinoa became a leading member of the first incarnation of Vice, swiftly becoming its Supreme Judge. After a short while, Vice amalgamated with Varyamo Nolvo by mutual agreement and Rinoa's career took a different path. She became a High Priestess of Hedonism and dedicated herself to its tenets, though mysteriously Rinoa has since disappeared and so to, has Hedonism.

Sera

Wolfram Gunnar

Although strictly speaking, not a member of the family, he is considered a loyal servant and ally for his service to Malice as his Steward and indeed, Lord Steward, during Malice' reign in the Ash Sea Islands. It was once whispered in some circles that Wolfram began life as little more than a petty commoner, though when he was given the honorary Earldom of Abingdon the whispers stopped quite abruptly. Wolfram remains at the side of Malice to this day.
