Archirium Family/Ascanius
Ascanius' youth
Ascanius is on of the 3 brothers that started the Archirium Family.
Ascanius might not be the oldest one, but on many subjects he is the wisest of the 3 brothers. Ascanius has spend most of his childhood in the library of his village. When Aeneas went hunting with his father, Ascanius went studying together his other brother, Sycheus. Though not always, it also happened enough that Sycheus went hunting along with Aeneas and his father and Ascanius was alone in the library, but he didn't mind. Peace and quite were good for ones soul he always said. Ascanius wasn't very good with the sword however, but when they were send away he was thought a little about it by his brother Aeneas. By the time the storm reached the boats Ascanius was on another boat then his brothers and got driven away from them. He didn't end up on the same continent as his brothers, he arrived on Sartania in the Far East, far away from his brothers. But a sailor told Ascanius were his brothers were and he still writes them so now and then and they write him back.
Sartania
Ascanius arrived at Sartania, a small realm on the Far East. Sartania had trouble with a nation called Arcaea, Arcaea has suppressed Sartania for some while, but they knew how to fight back. When Ascanius arrived the battle was already turned around, and it ended pretty soon after Ascanius came in Sartania. But not soon enough for Ascanius to witness his first few real battles. After that Ascanius found out there was not much to do so he recruited some fine men and trained them at day. In the evening Ascanius went to the library, Niel the capital of Sartania had a huge library and Ascanius already loved it. He started to read all he could, mostly about the banker and his duties, but also about rulers, generals, region lords etc. There weren't many fights, only those against monsters and undead. Ascanius found them rather disgusting and killed them with pleasure for they were killing local peasants. Ascanius did what he could to support Sartania, he also became mentor of Sartania for there wasn't any before him. Learning new nobles the way of the fight and the way of a true noble. While spending time in Sartania, Ascanius also got devoted to the great god Sartan. And however he was a war god and Ascanius sometimes isn't in favor of war, Sartan is much more than that. (Later he lost his faith in this "god")
When Lasanar had planned a siege on the city of Anacan and asked his allies to help Ascanius got his first change. He was allowed by lord Vash to lead the men who volunteered to go and aid their federation partners. With 24 highly trained men he left from Niel, traveling a long distance to get to the city of Colasan were the allied forces met. Ascanius had let his men perfectly, none had stayed behind and everyone arrive exactly on time, not to early not to late. Despite of this, the first siege of Anacan was lost ans Ascanius brought his men home safely again. Later on Ascanius was chosen as banker in Sartania, his second change. Ascanius tried a few times before, but it didn't work. This time he had prepared a speech of all he wanted to change and improve, and he had done them all in his first period of banker. But that wasn't his only time, Ascanius got elected as banker again the next month, and the next one as well. Proudly fulfilling his new job. But because of this job he was advised to stay home and guard their northern border against the evil realm of Arcachon that was positioned above them. The second siege failed as well. Because of his job Ascanius didn't go along the 3rd siege of Anacan wich was won. But a new war was in front of him, Arcachon had declared war on Sartania, a new chapter in Ascanius' life. King Edward of Sartania was still hoarding a lot of gold and the war was rather stagnated, each waiting on their own side, not real battles were fought. Sartania's army wasn't that strong nor was it's nobility very active in the entire war nor politics, this was an outrage so Ascanius believed. Then something horrible happened, Lord Vash disappeared, still Ascanius does not know who it was, Arcachon, perhaps Edward who was it's opponent, but it was bad. But Edward's tyranny didn't stop, lord Jannes one of Ascanius' friends became general and when they send their army north some stayed behind originally said as back up. But this time it was for something more important, it was time to change Sartania for ever and so Ascanius announced a rebellion, led by himself. Edward seeing he had lost this already, for a force of rebels where at the door of his palace while the army was away stepped down and gave ruler ship to Ascanius.
Ruler of Sartania
Under his reign Sartania did very well, their military expended and their war with Arcachon went on. Soldiers were funded and a new testament was created. Sartanian nobles became active again, that because they were inspired to do more, they were given opportunities to speak up. A new council was created, the military council with many promising nobles in it. Sartania had it's height during this reign. Not only a war with Arcachon but with Arcaea came as well. Due to the plans made and politics played Sartania was at that point winning their war. They had even taken Nocaneb with its walls from Arcaea while some of the forces of Lasanar were protecting Sartania in the north against the Arcachon barbarians. But at all came an end, after Ascanius had done about all he could do, he got sick and stressed. He could not take all the pressure anymore laid on him from inside and outside. For some of the newer nobility who he had given opportunities suddenly wanted more and from the inside Sartania was assaulted, not with power nor force, but verbally. Ascanius stepped down but became duke of Niel, Sartania's capital and only city. Around the same time something else happened, Lasanar's dukes seceded their cities and Lasanar was soon no more. Because of that Arcachon got a free passage again and Sartania got into trouble.
Caerwyn
Ascanius was "forced" to go back to Atamara when his brother Aeneas was at the point of dying. On Atamara he met both his brothers again and his niece Agrippina. After this Ascanius decided to leave Sartania behind him, because of all the strife and all he had seen and lived there. He went to a newly discovered Continent called Dwilight. He had heard many rumors of this new continent and he wanted to see if those were true. He ended up in a nation called Caerwyn. A nation, so he found, to be full of brave soldiers and surprisingly his brother's (Aeneas) old mentor Kanuni Kalkandelen was there as well. They spoke with each other about his brother, who by this time had passed away already, and he gave Kanuni a dagger of his brother.
Caerwyn was and still is struck by many assaults from monsters, stronger than Ascanius had ever seen, and undead hordes. Ascanius is still fighting these hordes in Caerwyn but has become State Purser in the meantime and is making sure the food, which is sometimes short, is well divided and not eaten by the hordes.
