Aquilegia
A small realm with ambitions of expansion, it is a theocracy of Astromancy. Occupying the geographically unique Flow Peninsula, our realm seeks active and contributive nobles to rebuild Aquilegia's power after the Plague.
Its capital of Flowrestown is the fourth overall largest and richest city on Dwilight, and the peninsula that connects it to the continent is accessible through very few points. Such geographical isolation, coupled with the Divide Mountains to the west, make Aquilegia potentially one of the best geographically defensible realms on Dwilight.
History
Originally founded as a Democratic Theocracy Aquilegia has gone through frequent periods of strife internally and from outside its borders. Its founders were idealist Morekians with the intention of building a powerful realm in the Flow Peninsula.
In the Summer of 9 YD, Aquilegia was swiftly taken by a lethal plague. More can be read in the Dwilight University's historical article "The Plague of Aquilegia" by Dean Bowie Ironsides.
Recovery in Post-Plague Aquilegia is still underway but many impacting changes are already being made.
Religion
As a theocracy, Aquilegia is subject to Astromancy. The position of High Inquisitor is to be appointed by the Archbishop on recommendation of the church. It is illegal with a 50 gold fine to found a new religion.
Military
After the plague, in the Autumn of 9 YD, Lord Bowie Ironsides was elected Holy Minister of War. He sponsored the Viper Legion of Aquilegia and demanded it uphold an image of strength, worthiness, dedication and experience.
The Viper Legion is slowly forming into Aquilegia's fighting backbone.
