Seras'Hel

Helsera is located in the north of the Colonies. It is home to an ancient forest which was around long before man roamed freely upon the lands. Historically, Helsera has had a large amount of unworldly beasts and creatures that roam the lands such as undead and monsters. There is a widely held belief that a magician lives in the ancient forest using magic to summon these abominations into existence. However there is evidence that other magical creatures exist naturally in the forest also, though no-one ever really sees more than a glimpse of these creatures. They include such creatures as unicorns and wood elves. The government of Giblot has quashed these rumours however. Any sightings of these creatures are ruthlessly suppressed.

The Helserans obsession with magical creatures and their strange practices have done nothing for their reputation within the rest of Giblot. The Giblot citizenry has always perceived the Helserans and their practices as abhorrent. This view is also reinforced by the Helserans apparent lack of loyalty. The Helserans secretive nature is also a factor. Which, although through no fault of their own, does nothing to quell the suspicions of others.

Helsera has long been a tourist destination for travellers and explorers alike. With the vast forest and some beautiful scenery a small, but substantial travelling industry has been setup. Alot of travellers come to try and catch a glimpse of the magical creatures that are sighted here. However local folklore says that any that get a good view of these creatures shall never return from the forest. Although these tales have never been confirmed, more travellers visit Helsera than ever leave it.

Revan's Reign

Revan spent many months conniving to attain his position as Count of Helsera. Eventually it was achieved during the Chancellorship of Robert der Trihs, who accepted Revan's claim to lordship on account of how years before, another of House Osha had served as Lord there. Indeed, most Helseran's could tell the relation as Revan immediately set about breaking the spirit of his people and just generally terrorising them into submission.

As time wore on, Revan found himself getting more and more irritated at the leadership of Giblot. Although he served as Count and Marshal of the army of Giblot, nothing he ever said was heard. Giblot insisted on fighting in weakness, under men not fit to be nobles - such as Black Recluse who had somehow gotten himself elected as Minister of Defence twice! Not happy to continue serving under such fools, Revan decided to teach Giblot a lesson she would never forget - he surrendered the region to Outer Tilog.

In Outer Tilog, Revan was allowed to remain as Count of Helsera. Maliciously, Revan decided to build Helsera's first two recruitment centres with a combination of his own and family gold - all to further irritate and provoke Giblot. However Revan did not stay long in Outer Tilog. Indeed, he did not even take much of an active role, just generally remaining in Helsera to keep the people firmly under control. Eventually Revan immigrated to Beluaterra in search of a more fulfilling role in life.

Arguably, Revan succeeded in knocking some sense into Giblot. The Defence Minister and Chancellor of the time were soon voted out of their offices after his betrayal and soon the Giblot Army actually began to resemble an army after months of ineptitude - exactly what Revan wished to provoke with his actions.
