Queen Charlotte's War

Sources to be thanked include Ambassador Pierre von Genf, Lord Kyp Duron, Ordermarshal Abbigal Pike, Former Grandmaster Garad Jhaelen Irsei, High Inquisitor Menelaus Raghall, and Former Grandmaster Bustoarsenzio Peristaltico.

As you can see, I had to collect bits and pieces about this war from several sources. To tell you the truth, however, there isn't much to be said about Queen Charlotte's War.

In a quick summary, Queen Charlotte Grancourt declared war on the Libero Empire with the intentions of expanding Summerdale and refounding the glory of the lost Springdale Empire. Summerdale had early victories until the Morek Empire joined the war on the side of the Libero Empire. At that time the region of Mt. Black Nastrond joined the Morek Empire (previously under the Liberonian banner) and the Morekans took the offensive against Summerdale. The Liberonian region of Stratford also joined the Morek Empire. Many battles were fought between Summerdale and the Morek Empire with the Libero Empire, and the Morek Empire pushed right into the Nifel Peninsula. The Duchy of Valkyrja abandoned Summerdale for Astrum in the Summer of 19 YD. Subsequently, as everything seemed to be falling to pieces for Dalian Imperialism, Queen Charlotte and (Former) Grandmaster Garad decided to settle the war in a glorious duel to the death. The outcome was a draw and both rulers were wounded. Queen Charlotte then resigned and was replaced by King Cairo (I never learned his family name). More battles occurred as the Morekans and the Liberonians marched closer and closer to Nifelheim. One such battle saw Lord Kyp Duron's unit wound King Cairo, a heroic feat of action celebrated by the Morek Empire. In the Autumn of 19 YD, Storms Keep was conquered by the Libero Empire, albeit for the first time. The duchy would prove hard to tame for a little while, only gradually accepting the Liberonian rule. It was around this time (probably) that Ambassador Pierre von Genf, acting for the diplomacy of the Morek Empire, settled the Treaty of Cessation of Hostilities formally ending the war against Summerdale. Summerdale was totally defeated and fell to pieces politically and socially. Their nobles began to scatter as the Morekan armies advanced into Nifelheim to ultimately conquer it and bring what was left of Summerdale under new rule.
