To Abbigal Pike, Ordermarshall of Morek Empire,

I am unsure if my king intends on sending a similar message or not. Nevertheless, I believe it is my duty to inform you that at the time of the writing of this message, Summerdale is no more. While we cannot officially surrender, thanks to the citizenry hating you, you may consider this our white flag.

We grew tired of wasting away in the great city of Nifelheim, denied the honor of a final stand. So, we sought our own last battle. A chance to show defiance in the face of an unrelenting and implacable foe. Well, mission accomplished, I suppose.

Now, the nobles of Summerdale intend to leave the northern peninsula. We do not yet know our destination, but rest assured that we do not plan on staying around.

To be frank, I am a warrior, not a diplomat. I will leave the details to others more eloquent than I. All I wish for now is that we be allowed to retreat while avoiding as much additional bloodshed as possible. As a token of my surety, I leave you my trusted blade, the one I took with me when I fled Mt Black Nastrond one year ago.
