End of month update on wars around Atamara By Relkin Sypher September 27th '07

The Norland-Minas Ithil war continues at a slow simmer. A few vikings made their way into Lyton yesterday only to be beaten by MI forces.

To the west Falasan has taken control of two former Eston regions, Amdor and Dondor. This month has held a series of victories over the Eston forces, however there is rumor that Barony of Makar has re-entered the war and fought victoriously in a recent battle in Dondor. Even with this victory, Eston and BoM are likely to have some difficulty reversing the gains that Falasan has made this month. The move by BoM was expected, with Eston losing so badly in recent days to Falasan some measure was sure to be taken to prevent the total loss of that conflict.

To the south, Cagilan Empire and Darka have attacked forces of the Republic of Abington in Chasnoff, a former region of Abington and currently a rogue region. Additionally, the fledgling state of Caergoth is reported to be in desperate need of food to feed its people. However, by only paying 20 gold for 100 bushels, it is unlikely to attract many merchants from the northern regions of Atamara, many of which have no food to spare regardless.

Tournament results By Relkin Sypher September 11th '07

The tournament is over with 129 troop leaders from 13 realms traveling to Shanandoah to participate in the Swordfighting and Jousting contests. Jaime Lannister (Knight of Mapaxal, Talerium) won the swordfighting tournament (Sir Eversio Raiva (Knight of York, Minas Ithil) came second place). The jousting contest was won by Sir DrSeptre Meadowcrest, Baron of Howling Waste (Second place: Kenji Takeda (Knight of Shanandoah, Minas Ithil)).

Well earned congratulations to those who won.

More Party Crashers By Relkin Sypher September 9th '07

As a continuation of the previous reporting on Minas Ithil's Tournament, Norland has tried again to reach the tournament. More vikings poured across the bridge this morning from Mansbridge and were met by Minas Ithil security forces. 347 Norland troops are reported to have been involved in this second attempt. Casualties for the Norland forces were 257 and 200 for Minas Ithil. Additionally minor skirmishs broke out around sunset, with an additional 85 Norland and 46 Minas Ithil casualties reported.

During the recent fighting Sandor Poirè, Knight of Lothruin, was seriously wounded by an assassination attempt. Not long after one Norland ruffian is reported to have been caught with a poisoned dagger outside High Marshall Raoul's tent. While not conclusive, it seems likely that he is the same individual that attacked Sandor Poirè. The ruffian was identified as Alexander McKay. A quick investigation found that Alexander is the brother of King Andrew of Eston.

In Lyton and Lothruin tournament security continue to round up the Norland ruffians that almost were able to sneak into the Tournament.

Luckily our forces have been able to prevent any disruptions to the Tournament, last count was that 11 Norland nobles are in prison. The Tournament is only a day away, with over 120 nobles having already reached the tournament grounds. The first place prize for each event is 500 gold and second place of 100 gold.

Party Crashers By Relkin Sypher September 8th '07

Norland, perhaps upset that we are having a Tournament decided to try to sneak into the Tournament. They moved from Elost to Lyton and then to Lothruin. Minas Ithil forces caught some of the party crashers in Lyton and then the rest were stopped in Lothruin. The Norlanders refused to be escorted quietly to the border and force was required. The norland party crashers have been broken up but many of them escaped in the confusion of the resulting fight. Our forces are still cleaning up the mess in Lyton and Lothruin Norland made. One party crasher named Drustan mocked our forces, stating

Enjoy your insignificant victory, Ithilians! Tonight, the real battle will be fought, and thanks to all of you here in Lothruin, the Vikings will emerge victorious!

Meanwhile, many of our nobles attending the Tournament left their troops in Winwich. As spoken by Drustan 'the mighty' Norland attacked this night. It is unclear if these troops were attempting to reach the Tournament but if so they should learn to read the invitation, clearly the Tournament is for those of noble families. Witnesses counted 436 Infantry, 97 Archers, 60 Cavalry, and 7 Special Forces from Norland crossing the bridge to Winwich. However, even without all of our nobles there to lead their men in battle the Norland forces were repelled. Norland casualties of 426 and Minas Ithil casualties of 370 are being reported.

This writer is sad to report he was not directly involved in either security operation. However, with Norland aggression unlikely to end in the near future another battle is sure to occur soon.

As a side note, it is reported that the capital of Redspan has fallen. Stargard is now a duchy of Tara.

Tournaments, Wars, and Rebellions By Relkin Sypher September 5th '07

King Dead Angel3 has called a Tournament in Shanandoah. As the first Tournament for a long time the event is bound to attract a large crowd. While the war continues between Norland and Minas Ithil, there remains little activity on that front. King Dead Angel3 has offered peace to the Norlanders, but so far they seem steadfast in their desire to take our northern regions from us and rape, pillage, and plunder the rest of our realm.

Sir Magnus the Mighty the Duke of Wayburg, seceded from Abington in the last days of Mad King Gauihu the Last King of Abington. His duchy now calling itself Caergoth. Soon after two rebellions occured in Abington, the first failing and the second suceeding. Before the end of Abington however Spiritmonger had been executed, sealing the fate of the ill-fated fledgling realm of Aquitaine. Rumor has it that during the second rebellion, lead by High Marshall Xuanye, the Mad King fled the palace without any supporters left. With the Mad King gone, the former High Marshall Xuanye Aisin Gioro declared himself Prime Minister of Abington and the government has been reformed as a republic. Xuanye has stated that Caergoth will not be dealt with the same way as Aquitaine, but that remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Redspan has two regions left, and they are no longer connected. Its armies have been crushed, its regions occupied by hostile forces. Information is sketchy but it appears that without some divine intervention the end of Redspan has come. Against four other realms and with their only Federation partner lead by the Mad King Redspan had little chance from the start.
