Starting Out In Sirion

Day 1

Welcome to Sirion! We are biased: we think that this is the best nation (or realm) in all of the world of BattleMaster. We also have the distinction of being the only elven realm in the game. We just know that you'll have a great time here. This message, and others that may follow, are to get you off to a good start.

When you start the game, you start as a noble: you have a sword, a small group of armed followers, some money from your family, and an attitude.

The first thing you will want to do is to find a liege, someone high in the nobility who will be your patron. That will tie you in to the tax system, and that means that you get a certain amount of gold every week to recruit and maintain your army.

Write a little message to introduce yourself, and to announce that you are willing to take an oath of allegiance to a lord. You do this at "Messages --> Sirion - to all of your realm-mates." You can check if anybody has offered you an allegiance under "Politics --> Review oath offers... - check on the offers made to you."

Once you have a liege, you will be not be a "noble" anymore, you will be addressed as "knight". Your liege will assign you to an army. The army will fight battles, and every time it does, you will gain honor and prestige. You will want to keep an eye on those numbers, because Honor, Prestige and Days in Realm determine when you will be able to pursue other career options.

The second thing you will want to do is to become a Student. You do that under "Actions" --> "Change Class". Being a Student will highlight your position to the Mentors. They are veterans of the game, and they will be delighted to answer any questions you may have as you are learning the ropes.

Now, onto Day 2...
