Day 2

Game Turns

Things in Battlemaster take time, but you only see what happens at the turn or click, one click every 12 hours. A turn is like a snapshot. For instance, if you have decided you will travel to Parm, you don't have to march your avatar all the way down the road. You just click on Travel, you click on Parm, and you're done. After the next click, you will be updated on the new situation. "You are in Parm," it will say. Or "you find the road you wanted to take has been blocked. It will take you 5 more hours to get to your destination."

One thing creates a snapshot between the turns: when you scout, you will get a report on the situation as it is at that moment. That is why Marshalls sometimes ask for multiple scoutings during a turn, just so they can see how the situation develops.

This means that you don't have to waste time on boring things. But if you want to play more Battlemaster, you can create up to three caracters for free, and up to four in the payed plan.

Finding a Lord

Here is an embarrassing fact about the Lords of Sirion: sometimes they are so busy that they do not notice that a new noble has arrived. That does not mean that you just have to sit there and wait. You have men, and some money. You can go looking for trouble, gain Honor and Prestige, and thus show your valor.

Here is how you do that. Go to Information --> Realm and Regions. That wil give you a list of all the regions. Right-click on "Details" at the end of the first region's line, and click on "Open link in new tab". (At least, that's how it works in Firefox.) Go down the list, opening region pages on your way.

Now open up each page, and look at who is where. If you find a region where there are Undead or Monsters, you know that there is a job waiting for you there. Be smart about it: contact other nobles to combine forces. The most important tactic in Battlemaster is to all arrive on the battlefield together.

What if there are no monsters to fight? You can often see if there is a battle brewing: when a lot of Sirion nobles get together in one place. Go there, and ask your fellow nobles for advice. They get the army's standing orders, and can relay them to you.

The people that you work together with for a common goal may be able to vouch for your activism when their Lord considers you as a prospect.

Now, onto Day 3...
