The Rise and Fall of the Old Council | ||
This Chapter of Giblot's History covers both the Rise and Fall of the Old Council. Here you shall see how entire Councils have changed over just little strips of land and how easy it can become for one Noble to dominate the will of an entire realm. Read on to see just how and why the Councils changed over time...

The Founding Council
May the founding Council of Giblot forever be Immortalised within this text as today we start the recording of what shall one day be our great history!
During the course of our first days as a realm, Greyswandir came under heavy fire about the Rollsovarian Question. Many voices united in their request for Rollsovar to hail Giblot as their Overlords. Eventually, Greyswandir lost his position as PM due to the situation with Rollsovar.
CJ lost his position to Gheros at the end of the month, in a riveting, fair election where Gheros eventually won by a narrow margin of 1 and 2 votes respectivlely against Aethbert and CJ.
The Second Council
In this Second month of our dominion over the lands of Giblot the Council began to change as fast as we took new lands. Aethbert, the good man that he was, gave up is position as ruler to psycho so that the parity with the Troop Leaders could be maintained and Giblot could continue with the attack on Outer Tilog.
Unfortunately, psycho broke our Good hearts and abandoned Giblot with a few others to join Outer Tilog. Although deeply saddened by this, we soldiered on and Aethbert was returned to power.
The Third Council
As the third month of Giblot's dominion in the North Eastern Corner of the Colonies rolled on, so did the elections and the events.
Records are sketchy but it is known that Aethbert was severely wounded during the course of the month and that is how he lost his Rulership to Estevan. In response to this incident, Aethbert became an Infiltrator in the hope of being better able to defend himself the next time. It is unknown whether the attack on Aethbert was due to his domineering role in the Council.
Gheros also gave up her position after failing to return from one of her usual strolls around the Grand Justiciar Gardens. Mitch graciously took over Gheros duties until the end of the month.
The Fourth Council
In the time of the Fourth Council, much changed. Aethbert disappeared after being captured in Outer Tilog. It's presumed that he was either Killed, Tortured or Deported. Estevan also disappeared at around this time, apparently consumed by darkness that had long lain dormant within him. Neither of these early voices in Giblot, ever seen again.
Gildon took the reins of leadership following the loss of Estevan and it would be the start of a long reign indeed, though nothing compared to what Thanatos would do in the future. Gheros also returned from her unfathomable Journey towards the end of the month to take the position of Finance Minister.
The Fifth Council
Curiously it appears someone has actually cut out a piece of this text as though trying to hide something. You shrug before going to read about the next Council
The Sixth Council
This month there was many a game of Musical Chairs over who was in what position on the Council. After much discussion betwen themselves, Valion and Gheros decided that they liked each others positions so much more than their own that at the end of the month Valion gave up the position as General, for Gheros whilst she dropped hers for Valion.
However it must be said that Valion turned his nose up at the opportunity of becoming the Grand Justiciar thus Ioanna, the able student of Gheros was identified as her successor.
The Seventh Council
Eglender became the new Finacne Minister as Ioanna departed for the Giblot Court of Justice. However Eglender was wounded later on in the month during the Battle of Rollsovar and Gander was appointed in his place. Although he did not yet hold his current taste for blood, the Finance Workers were still none to happy about the appointment of this epitomy of Evil.
The Eighth Council
Curiously this entry is nearly blank except for a hastily scrawled note:
Ganders proposition to make skulls out of bone, rejec...
Alarmingly the ink then runs all the way to the other side of the page at this point in a jagged line. Theres no telling what happened to the scribe who began this message.
The Last of the Old Order
In another curious bout of selctive rememberance you notice the name of the final banker of the Old Council is mentioned no where in the entire chapter. Slightly irritated, you hope this doesn't go on throughout the entire History of Giblot's Councils...
Sadi won the election as Judge surprisingly. Rumours spread shortly after Sadi took office that he'd threatened to kidnap and boil peoples children if you did not vote him into office. All who voiced this rumour were usually found dead a short time later however. Needless to say most of those in Giblot were afraid for Giblot's future with this maniac in office.
At the end of this month, the reign of the Old Council was finally ended. As described in greater detail in another chapter a new Noble rose to power and it wasn't long before all but two of the Old Council remained in the lands. Who was this new man?...
