The Church of Qyrvagg/Beliefs

Beliefs

The beliefs and doctrines of the Church of Qyrvagg are quite simple and easily understood. We shall give glory to war and strive to dwell in a constant state of war, whether physical or metaphysical. Below is a full description:

• War can be waged on all levels.
  • This means infiltration, assassination, pillaging, and battles
• Duels are encouraged
  • Duels to the deaths should be postponed during wars
• Absolute obedience to the Master of the Holy Hosts is required in Wars.
  • In all else, defer to the appropriate authorities, usually the current Prophet.
• War is not a last resort.
  • War is to be waged readily and happily, but not suicidally.
  • War against Demons/Undead/Monsters take a higher precedence then wars of man.
  • Heroes are the blessed servants of Qyrvagg
  • Traders and Bureaucrats are necessary, but are only permissible when the realm they serve on the whole functions in ways pleasing to Qyrvagg.
• War should not be waged in hate. War is glorious to Qyrvagg, God of War. Hate is not His.
• Qyrvagg has the power to heal his Followers of diseases and ailments, but only in extreme circumstances.
• There must be no ulterior motives for faith. Amekal died to remove his ulterior motives. There must be no power-mongering, no miracle-seeking. No ulterior motives. Devotion to Qyrvagg and the virtues of battle are reason for faith.
• The virtues of battle are, in order of importance, loyalty, courage, honor, strength, obedience, and fellowship.
• The Prophet is a conduit for the Amekanun, the Child-Spirit of Qyrvagg, to be conveyed to the Church.
• Once a person has died, in any way, their body should be burnt, to free their soul to walk the Path of the Amekanun as far as they can and, if they have lived valiantly, to reach Qyrvagg's city. If they have not, then they shall dwell forever on the Amekanun, and gradually fade into oblivion. But, if burning is not possible for some reason, Qyrvagg will understand, though a great effort should be made to burn the bodies.
• After death, those who have served Qyrvagg will dwell eternally in his blissful city, for they no longer need conflict, now that they have reached the state of virtue conflict was meant to bring them to. This used to be true however, during this Time of Conflict the Demons have challenged Qyrvagg in the heavens and once again war is raging. Those who served Qyrvagg in life now fight for him in death till the battle in heaven is resolved.

• These beliefs are from Qyrvagg, as spoken by Hireshmont, First Prophet, Amekal, Third Prophet, and Sendan, Fourth Prophet.

Subdivisions of Humanity

• The Amekanunim- Those of the Wild Young Dragon Spirit, the Church. The Amekanunim will go to Qyrvagg's Paradisal City if they exhibit a sincere effort to adhere to the Amekanun, and truly do try to follow the Church, and do not stray into heresy.
• The Amefarim- Those of young belief, those who are in the Church, but not full members. They probably go to Qyrvagg's Paradisal City, if they live in accordance with the Amekanun.
• The Kanunim- Those who are not in the Church, but who are believed to be followers of Qyrvagg in some sense (see Heretics and Friends. It is believed they will be in Qyrvagg's Paradisal City.
• The Jafarim- Those who have not heard the word of Qyrvagg, or have had no reasonable chance to convert. If they live their lives in general accordance with the Amekanun, they will go to Qyrvagg's Paradisal City.
• The Koanorim- Those who have heard the word of Qyrvagg, and rejected it. They will not be in Qyrvagg's Paradisal City, though what exactly WILL happen to them is not known. Possibly oblivion, possibly something else.
• The Apostate- Those who have specifically rejected Qyrvaggism AND persecuted it. They will NOT be in Qyrvagg's Paradisal City, but shall be in a state of oblivion after death.

The Prophetic Creed

• This oath is taken by all who wish to become full members of the Church of Qyrvagg.
• I believe that Qyrvagg ascended into the heavens alongside Sartan after the battle of Nem-e-Kabu.
• I believe that Sartan's followers went astray and became weak.
• I believe that Qyrvagg cast down Sartan, becoming the New God of War and Battle.
• I believe that Qyrvagg's Warrior Spirit, the Amekanun Child Spirit, is incarnated in the Church through the person of the Prophet, and under the guidance of the Priesthood.
• I believe that the faithful to Qyrvagg will live in a land populated by those who have dwelt virtuosly in this mortal life.
• I believe that the Avatars are servants of Qyrvagg on equal level with the Prophets. *These things I believe, and will remain faithful to.

The Unity Creed

• This oath is taken by all who wish to aspire to anything above the rank of 1st Caste Priest
• I believe that the Church is the true inheritor of Qyrvagg's blessings.
• I believe that, through conflict, humanity can, collectively and personally, be bettered.
• I believe that it is the responsibility of every person to strive for further closeness with the Amekanun and, as such, aspire to know more of Qyrvagg's teachings.
• I believe that the only true path to closeness with Qyrvagg is through the Church, becuase the Amekanun flows through the Prophet, and the Prophet leads the Church.
• I believe that the doctrinal teachings of the Church, when properly understood, are infallible, because they have been set in place by the Prophets and Elders, who are the right and true teachers of the Amekanun, for the knowledge of Qyrvagg came to Hireshmont the Prophet, and has been passed on, by the Avatars, in an unbroken line.
• I believe all that which is set down in the Tome of Wars, the writings of the Prophets, and the Prophetic Creed.
• These things I believe, and will remain faithful to.

The Crusader Creed

• This oath is taken for those who wish to dedicate themselves as Crusaders, May the power of Qyrvagg guide all crusaders victory.
• I swear to combat the evil of Demons, Undead and Monsters in this life and the next.
• I forswear Qyrvagg's promise of a peaceful afterlife so that I may better serve him now and in the afterlife by his side.

The Eldar Creed

• This oath is taken by all who are Elders, being those who hold the rank of Arch Priest and higher.
• I believe all that which is set down by the Prophets and others in the Tome of Wars, other writings, Prophetic Creed, and Unity Creed.
• I believe that it is my responsibility to lead and guide the Church of Qyrvagg, ensuring that it does not stray, neither to left or right, of the true path of the Amekanun.
• I believe that I am rightfully empowered to do this, by my appointment by the Elders above me, who are the rightful inheritors of teaching in the Church, and who dutifully, caringly, and forthrightly deliver Qyrvagg's teachings to the Church, and the whole world that they can reach.
• I understand that I may be called upon to do great service to the Church, to bear great responsibility on my shoulders for the well-being of others, for service to others, and will do so willingly, for that is my calling, as an Elder of the Church.
• These things I believe, and will remain faithful to.

Common Heresies

• The following are several misconceptions, misconstruencies, and other plain wrong ideas about Qyrvaggism that we have come across. They may seem logical, but they are false. They are, in fact, heresy. Those who believe them are not Qyrvaggians at all, and do not hold the Amekanun within them.

• • The Warmonger Heresy
    • The belief that Qyrvaggism is merely a warmongering religion. see: The Epistle to Enweil and also: Apology on War and Battle

• • The Nationalism Heresy
    • The belief that Qyrvaggism owes allegiance to a specific nation, or specifically serves a specific nation. Our priests serve whichever nation they owe citizenship to, and serve Qyrvagg foremost, the same goes for our other members. We are not a nation in any geopolitical sense, and are affiliated with none. See: Apology on Nationalism and State Religions

• • The Sartan Heresy
    • The belief that Qyrvagg did not cast down Sartan in the battle of Hakan-del-Zir. False, Qyrvagg did cast him down. see: The Battle of Ascension.

• • The Value Heresy
    • The belief that any Qyrvaggian is superior to another. False, while some may have stronger faith, or be more devoted, none are BETTER than another. Even though some may bear more responsibility or authority in the Church than others, they are not better on any level of soul or spirit, merely of temporal responsibility.

The Church of Qyrvagg
