Astrum is the oldest living realm in Dwilight and is the first Democracy to flourish in these lands. Founded as a Theocracy of Sanguis Astroism, Astrum served for long ages as the main defender of the church and was in fact the last Theocracy standing. Eventually however the era of Theocracies ended, Astrum and the Church drifted apart, and in early 2022 Astrum severed legal ties with the Church and became a Democracy.

Astrum seeks to create itself anew. From our storied histories we draw inspiration, but it is the future which we most proudly seek to claim. The Democracy of Astrum will shine as a beacon of Liberty upon Dwilight!

On 2023-01-28 Astrum renamed itself to Wicrose.

Constitution

On 29/06/2022 the Constitution of Astrum was ratified by a free referendum of all the nobles. Thereafter Astrum became a Constitutional Democracy. From that time on the Constitution became the supreme legal document in Astrum. No Law or Government changes may be enacted which are in discordance with its provisions.

Government

Astrum is a Constitutional Democracy. All government titles and provisions are documented in the Constitution.

Religion

There is no state religion, although the majority do worship Sanguis Astroism.

History

The vast and rich history of Astrum is difficult to behold, yet the effort to record it in a single volume has been undertaken by various chroniclers and scribes of Astrum. The tome named Chronica Astrorum attempts to compile this history to ensure that this rich legacy lives on.

The tome owes inspiration to the efforts of a modest knight of Astrum, Munsel Keen, who has long perished but left a lasting inspiration for scholarly pursuit.

Culture

Although Astrum is no longer a Theocracy, much of it's culture and heritage is based on its long history of association with Sanguis Astroism.

• Spectrum - Spectrum is a strategy game that has been played by the locals in Libidizedd for countless generations. It has recently been co-opted by the nobility of Astrum, who renamed the game and adapted it to fit their religious way of life.

• Kihalin Lapallanch - Winner of the tournament in Valkyrja. The first noble to win a tournament in Astrum. A three-time tournament champion.

• Royal Regstav Pryde, Austere Banker - Killed by Archmarshal Mildgyd Barras of Sol in the battle of Shomrak.

Current Armies

• The Patriotic Guard - The first army of Democratic Astrum. Sponsored by the first, First Consul Ramon de Santis.

Historical Armies

• The Order of Astrum - For many years, the military of Astrum was comprised of this one all-encompassing army. Sponsored by Astrum's first Strategos, Justin Greystone.
• Astrum Holystar Defenders - Purpose of this army was to defend the home regions and keep them free from pests. Founded by Duke Migash Sarrecenia.
• Bloodstar Invincibles - Was the main army of Astrum. Founded by Duke Renais Wittsven.
• Defenders of the Blood Stars - Was for homeland defense.
• Judgement of Austere - Was created for Astrum's elite nobles who excelled on the field. Destroyed during the monster invasion.
• Red Wardens - The Red Wardens were an elite order of noble warriors. Only the most active members of the nobility could join the ranks. Founded by General Aylwin.
• The Austere Order - Was the oldest standing army of Astrum.
