Regions Down, Military Up
September 30, 1011
It has been brought to this papers attention the reasoning behind the revolts in Clermont and Al Aquabah. Well, Al Aquabah was likely to revolt or fall to Ibladesh anyway, but Clermont was something else. It would seem that while two of the Perdan armies where busy in Al Aquabah, the third, elite army of Perdan went south, deep south. They would turn up in Semall with a mere nine units, proving again why Perdan military might is one to be both feared and respected. The mighty elite army of Perdan crashed against the walls of Semall crushing the militia. Shortly after, large amounts of looting started, bringing the walls down quickly and turning the city into ruins compared to what it once was. With three cities hit since the war started, the only thing on our minds is...what city is next, Itorunt or Ibladesh? |
Double the Loss | |
September 29, 1011
It would seem that following a huge loss, Perdan is now losing regions as well. Due to revolts, both regions of Clermont and Al Aquabah have revolted against Perdan rule, choosing to be rogue regions instead. The revolt in Al Aquabah comes to no surprise to any, I am sure, since it is so close to Ibladesh city, though it is a bit of a surprise to be rogue and not part of Ibladesh once again. Clermont on the other hand has been with Perdan for some time now, so this revolt does come to a bit more of a surprise, one must wonder what happened there. |
Ibladesh Responds! | |
September 27, 1011
Semall, hit by Perdan forces a few days ago...coming right after a huge Ibladesh victory over Caligus. Word also comes that Al Aquabah was overrun and taken by Perdan. What does this mean? Does it mean Ibladesh only knows how to fight Caligus? Of course not! In response to the two attacks, and the separation of the mighty Perdan armies, Ibladesh mobilzed after a short refit and chased the Perdan troops into Woolton. Wishing to defend their lands and fight off the large incoming forces of Ibladesh, Perdan made its stand. A long, bloody battled soon ensued between the two realms, taking the lives of hundred, including one brave, honorable knight, Yogi Guldan. Our condolences go out to the Guldan family and Perdan. As for how Ibladesh stands now...well two big victories for their armies, but a city is still burning remember. Can Ibladesh make it three huge wins? Will Caligus and Perdan bounce back? It may not be a tide changer, and it may not put Ibladesh back into superpower status but it's a huge step in the right direction, congratulations. |
A Loss to Follow | |
September 23, 1011
Doesn't it seem like just yesterday we wrote about Ibladesh winning a huge battle against Caligus? Oh wait...it was yesterday. Ah well, guess it comes to no surprise that Perdan has once again shown their might, overcoming the third city by taking the walls of Semall, a south-west city of Ibladesh. This leaves only Ibladesh city and Itorunt city untouched by the Perdan forces. What is Ibladesh doing, letting three cities get overrun by Perdan? What city shall Perdan attack next? How far away are we from seeing a combined assault with Caligus and Perdan? These are just a few questions this reporter has, with many more in mind, but with no answers...we will just have to wait and see. |
Kazan Falls Again | |
September 22, 1011
Well...I don't know about you readers, but I am getting a bit...well tired of repeating this. Obsidian Islands forces once again landed in Kazan, and along with Sirion aid, have taken over the region by brutal force. This comes after the region revolted and was later reclaimed by Sultanate of Asena forces. Will Obsidian Islands finally do the impossible and hold the region? Will Kazakh or Gadlock be their next target? What will Sultanate of Asena's response be to this? |
Ibladesh Pushes Back | |
September 22, 1011
After more defeats then one would care to count, Ibladesh shows some true military might, as they outnumbered Caligus in a big way, and then went on to defeat them in Betholm. This may come to a surprise to many, as usually in the news it is the opposite way around. Though it was only one battle, it does bring the mind to wonder, if Ibladesh has finally reached the breaking point and now showing it's true power or if this was just a one hit amazement. Later news will tell.... |
Fontan, Re-Expanding | |
September 19, 1011
In an effort to take back some of the losses they have suffered so far, Fontan has managed to put together a successful take over of Commonyr. With the entrance of Sirion into the conflict, one must wonder how far Fontan will be able to go into Westmoor lands. |
The Three Wars - Part 2 | |
September 15, 1011
Which war impacts the continent most? Which realm is in the worst spot? Which realm is in the best spot? Lets review....
|
The Three Wars - Part 1 | |
September 15, 1011
Currently there are three wars being fought on the East Continent. The Northern War, the Central War and the Southern War.
|
Rank One, Rank Five, To Battle!
September 14, 1011
Sirion troops have made it to the field of battle, not facing the Sultanate of Asena troops this time though, the Westmoor troops are the focus of this attack. Troops from Sirion, gathered north of Westmoor, moved swiftly, ready to bring down the might of Westmoor in Oberndorf. A long battle ensued, but Sirion troops massively overwhelmed the much, much smaller Westmoor army. Not only this, but many Westmoor nobles have been wounded, and two commanding nobles captured, a Jonn Kingsley and Marshal, Countess Arica Maldives. Though it was but one battle, one must wonder what Westmoor can do against such overwhelming numbers against them. |
Rankings, Expanded | |
September 7, 1011
Sirion is in a ranking of it's own for the time being, holding first place with little to no competition. Ibladesh is on the verge of not only dropping into third, but fourth as the combined powers of Perdan and Caligus are showing lasting damage that Ibladesh is simply not recovering from as before. Westmoor holds fifth all on it's own, holding a huge lead over the realms under it. Obsidian Islands was given the sixth place because they have taken Kazan once again despite attacks with more troops coming from the Sultanate of Asena, who also has been having very poor economic and military showings lately. Fontan is last, but is showing some very good potential again with the defense of Krimml against the fifth ranked Westmoor army. Keep these rankings in mind, they could be drastically different in next months! |
Obsidian Power Rankings!
September 7, 1011
It took a few extra days, taking down notes, numbers, making calculations, waiting for battle reports but we finally have it done! This months Obsidian Power Rankings! Where is your realm this month? Let's take a look...
|
Federation vs Alliance
September 7, 1011
Remember months ago when Diocese of Aix was around? The south had just erupted into a huge war, Fontan was fighting Sirion, Westmoor rebellions happened more then battles around the continent? The formation of the Federation and the Alliance? Well, let's see where these numbers stand now, if things remained the absolute same diplomatically.
|
Ibladesh Beats Perdan?
September 7, 1011
In a very surprising battle, Ibladesh attacked the Perdan defenses in Woolton. Now I know everyone is used to hearing about a huge battle, where Perdan attacks some Ibladesh region and burns it to the ground, but an amazing change, where Ibladesh is the larger force, taking down a Perdan region! Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, but now one must wonder what is going on with the Caligus front, surely they won't just leave it wide open for Caligus, or will they? |
Sirion, Westmoor, WAR | |
September 6, 1011
First, Westmoor moved in to attack Fontan in Krimml, and lost the battle. In case this was not enough for Westmoor to deal with, later on Sirion followed through with a full war declaration. What does this mean for Westmoor? What about Fontan? Of course, in an indirect way, this might also end up being beneficial for Sultanate of Asena as well. |
Southern Revolts | |
September 6, 1011
Recently two more regions have decided to revolt in the south, one from Ibladesh, who has seen many revolts around their realm, and one from Caligus who seem to have trouble holding onto their new regions they claim from rogue/Ibladesh. The first revolt came out of Nimraw that is reported to have been ruthlessly looted down to nothing again by Perdan troops. The second report, coming in moments after, was from Igno, that was just being a problem region for Caligus and did not have the proper time to put into holding the region. |
Fontan Victorious in Defense!
September 6, 1011
Westmoor troops decided that taking the lands around Krimml were just not enough anymore. They rallied up, and marched on the Fontan's heavily defended capital, Krimml. This proved to be a mistake for the Westmoor troops though as they became overwhelmed by the defending forces and losing the battle. It is rumored that a long, drawn out argument is also going on between Westmoor and Fontan nobles, about how the war started and so on. Best of luck to both sides, though it is quite unfortunate that this war continues when it should have even started. |
Kazan Under Control | |
September 6, 1011
It took longer then expected, likely due to the Sultanate of Asena desperation attacks on the take over forces, but Kazan now flies the Obsidian Islands flag once again. We look forward to seeing who the new lord is going to be during these dark times, and what will come of the region now that the Islanders once again have a small foothold on the mainland. |
Tragedy in Victory | |
September 5, 1011
Once again the Sultanate of Asenna thought that with bigger numbers they would have a certain victory, and once again, they failed to beat the combined forces of Sirion and Obsidian Islands. Once again the battle raged on, with both sides receiving reinforcements at a crucial moment. During the battle however things did take a downside turn for the Obsidian Islands as Emperor Shady was wounded during the battle. Nothing serious, but enough to bring him away from the field for a half to full day. Hopefully we see a quick recovery and a finished take over soon. |
Defense, Kazan | |
September 4, 1011
When your capital is being overrun by enemy troops, and a region next to your capital is being taken over by another enemy, what comes to mind first on what to do? Save your capital, or save the region being taken over? Well, for Sultanate of Asena troops the choice was save the region being taken. Obsidian Islands has a running take over in Kazan when the Sultanate of Asena decided to call in their troops from the north, and recruit from their overrun capital of Kazakh to try and break the take over. They brought in nearly 500 troops, mostly of which was infantry, against a standing army of about 350 of a combined Obsidian Islands and Sirion force. The battle went on and on, the Sultanate of Asena troops desperately trying to stop the Obsidian Islands from taking Kazan away from them. Despite their best efforts though, Obsidian Islands and Sirion where the ones with troops left on the field at the end of the day, with the take over still running in full force. |
Kazan Occupation | |
September 1, 1011
With the fall of Kazakh to the Sirion and Obsidian Islands troops, it was time to once again take back Kazan. Obsidian Islands moved their units into position around the region of Kazan and once ready, began their brutal take over. It is expected that the region will fall quite quickly. |
An Outnumbered Victory
September 1, 1011
As the month changes, the wars stay the same. Caligus sent their army into Oc Lu Pesh, a region right next to Ibladesh's capital. They where met by a larger Ibladesh army as well. From the reports, the battle went on for hours, with neither side willing give up. They went back and forth, each side making a push for the win, and each side losing units left and right. At the end of the day though, Caligus archers where able to finish off the little bit of resistance that Ibladesh defenses had in the region. A huge victory for Caligus as now they have proven they can make it to Ibladesh's front door, and now they are knocking. |
