A wounded troop leader will not be able to do anything until he/she recovers. He/She will not be able to send messages, order his/her unit, or cast votes, but can still be elected into office. How long he/she takes to recover will depend on the severity of his/her wound.
Light Wound
A lightly wounded troop leader will be back in action in a few days. These wounds often occur in battle, or they could be from the actions of an infiltrator.
Serious Wound
You can never tell how long a serious wound will last until it is over. A seriously wounded character could recover within a few days. Or, there is a slight chance that he/she might not wake up for weeks. A serious wound is possible in battle for all classes except heroes. A hero who would have been seriously wounded instead suffers a mortal wound and dies. That is the risk of being a hero. A skilled infiltrator could cause a serious wound to anyone, even a hero.
Serious wounds also accelerate aging, which in turn has many negative effects. A serious wound really is something serious, even if it happens to heal quickly.
Note: Someone seriously wounded is still eligable for elections. They can not vote, but will be able to be elected.
