By Roxas Sypher The Hunt February 25th

The coronation of Queen Katherine saw the forces of Caergoth pull out of the lands of Minas Ithil. Not long after, the forces of Suville also left, leaving only the army of Carelia.

Starting with Crahandan, the armies swept up to defeat the rearguard of the Carelia army. Then, moving to Nemaha, Minas Ithil defeated a large force of the army of Carelia. The other half of Carelia's army was in Winham and it moved to Cheltenborne. Minas Ithil's armies moved from Nemaha into Winham and defeated those not leaving in time. From there Minas Ithil has been chasing the remaining forces of Carelia from Winham, through Cheltenborne to Lyton and Lothruin.

By Roxas Sypher End of the Northern Federation February 21st

The Northern Federation is no more. Several days ago, as King Raoul was stepping down from the throne, Eston and Barony of Makar withdrew from the Northern Federation. Eston's withdrawal stems from a recent treaty signed with Darka. The Treaty seems to call for Darka to keep the lands it gained from Eston while Eston reclaims the lands it once held from Norland. At the same time the Barony of Makar seems eager to carve out a piece of Norland or perhaps at least bail from the sinking ship that is Norland.

Eston has since entered into an alliance with Darka. Meanwhile, Eston and the Barony of Makar have both officially ended their wars with Minas Ithil and our realms are Neutral.

By Roxas Sypher Queen Katherine Yorke February 18th

King Raoul has stepped down as King. In his speech he told how he was more of a warrior than a politician and that he found the politics of Atamara to be dishonorable and unjust. The nobility of Minas Ithil quickly crowned Queen Katherine Yorke as the first Queen of Minas Ithil. Queen Katherine has served as General, Judge, and Countess of Cheltenborne. Queen Katherine received 38% of the vote with General Relkin receiving 26% and Lord Sidd, Queen Katherine's husband, receiving 10%. The remaining 26% of the votes went to many other honorable nobles of Minas Ithil.

By Roxas Sypher Battle of Lyton February 17th

Carelia, Suville, and Caergoth gathered in Lothruin and looted and terrorized the region and then marched north to Lyton. Minas Ithil was rallying their troops in Lyton to try to slow the advance of the southern coalition forces. 1,451 coalition troops with a total strength of 20,748 cs attacked 1,225 Minas Ithil troops with a total strength of 13,976. The coalition forces suffered 447 casualties while Minas Ithil suffered 918 casualties.

General Relkin took responsibility for the formations used. A formation called the Strategic Withdraw formation was used and the army lined up as rearguard while the coalition forces deployed in an Archer Opening to take advantage of their numerous archers. General Relkin explained to the York Journal that the Strategic Withdraw formation was botched and did not deploy the Minas Ithil armies as intended.

By Roxas Sypher Invasion from the south February 16th

Over the past day, forces from Carelia, Caergoth, and Suville have appeared in Lothruin without warning. Carelia has already started looting the region and hundreds of peasants have been killed. The force in Lothruin numbers more than 2000 men(and 27kcs). Beyond the looting they have not declared their intentions and no war declarations have been made. The armies of Minas Ithil are mobilizing to combat this new threat. Minas Ithil stands greatly outnumbered with but a thousand soldiers in Lyton.

By Roxas Sypher A dark day February 9th

Royal Prince Dead Angel the Third, Minas Ithil's former king, was executed by Norland on this day.

By Roxas Sypher Robb Stoneheart February 3rd

Robb Stoneheart has been named Earl of Cheltenborne. Robb Stoneheart, formerly a knight of Winham was named the new lord at a ceremony presided over by King Raoul De La Fere. Earl Robb Stoneheart is the Marshal of the Swords of Minas Ithil and bears the civil title of Duke. With a distinguished career Robb has set an example for others to emulate. Cheltenborne has suffered greatly in the current war with Norland, with the region suffering briefly under Norland rule and falling into anarchy.

On behalf of the York Journal congratulations on your appointment and we wish you luck in the hard work ahead.

By Roxas Sypher War update February 3rd

The war with the northern federation has shifted. Darka has captured the duchy of Massillion. In a recent battle on the plains of Wistir, Darka defeated the armies of Eston and Barony of Makar. Minas Ithil has inflicted heavy casualties on the armies of Norland in the last two weeks. The armies of Minas Ithil have also managed to regain control of Cheltenborne during this time. Only Winwich remains under the control of Norland.
