Talk:Adventurer/Items
that table should probably be turned into a proper wiki table, as the list does not guarantee that the rows are arranged properly. --Tom 10:51, 20 December 2006 (CET)
So why was my addition (Small ruby or something; I can't check, my character is wounded) deleted from the gems list? - Nylen 15:30, 21 December 2006 (CET)
Alright, this is exactly what the game says when I use my lamp. Does anyone know what it means?
You are no longer afraid of grues. Fredrich 20:55, 23 December 2006 (CET)
- Probably means You no longer feel gruesome about the environment. -- Gsklee 23:10, 23 December 2006 (CET)
- Heheh... Perhaps you should look here? :-) --The1exile 02:12, 24 December 2006 (CET)
- It's a tribute to a very old text-based computer game, Zork. When you walked around in the dark, you got warnings that you could be eaten by a grue, and you couldn't see where you were going. When you got the lamp, you were no longer in danger from grues, and you could see. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zork --Indirik 04:35, 24 December 2006 (CET)
> what is a grue The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.
Well, that would have been useful to know before my adventurer went off running into the dark. Perhaps then lamps are much more valuable than their cost in silver.
Alright everyone! Its one silver a day to be near me and my lamp. Don't want to pay? Then have fun with the grues. Maybe you could find some monsters and undead to protect you. Fredrich 14:55, 24 December 2006 (CET)
Shouldn't we better divide the table into: rural, city, mountain, ... As I've notice that a bronze bracelet is worth 10 silver in rural regions and 2 gold in city regions. It's nothing like highest or lowest, it seems to depend from region type to region type. I really think it's better to distinguish the region types, se everyone knows where it's best to sell their items, instead of only knowing what the best price is. - Well, I think one of these adventurer pages does say that cities have better prices in general, but that isn't always true. I saw 10 silver for a bronze bracelet in one of the largest cities on Belu. Fredrich 15:03, 27 December 2006 (CET)
- I have a Gold Idol for three days now, whenever I tried to sell it in a rural region it would give me 2 gold and 4 silver. In the city I am now it always keeps saying 2 gold. It simply doesn't change. Foreign Curs 09:26, 28 December 2006 (CET)
Split ?
Soon, it might be wise to split the page up. As you can see, there is a lot of stuff that can be found, and you haven't yet found everything... --Tom 15:50, 4 January 2007 (CET)
- Seperate pages: I can do this tonight/tomorrow
- Adventurer/Items/Common
- Adventurer/Items/Usable
- Adventurer/Items/Unique
- Adventurer/Items/Animal Parts
- Adventurer/Items/Gems
- Adventurer/Items/Materials
- I could also set up an "item" template, so we can get some consistancy across the pages.
- Anything else ? mcsporran 16:01, 4 January 2007 (CET)
beware of misleading information
The description for rope says Benefit Unknown - This item is used automatically whenever appropriate, so there is no point in using it manually. - how does the submitter know this? I wonder, and for a reason... --Tom 12:01, 4 January 2007 (CET)
- I submitted this, and I knew this, as, it's the message I got when I puched the "use" button in Items/Inventory/ mcsporran 14:42, 4 January 2007 (CET)
This item is used automatically whenever appropriate, so there is no point in using it manually. This is exactly what the games says when you try and use rope. --JFS 14:37, 4 January 2007 (CET)
- I stand corrected. There's a lot of stuff in the adventurers code, it seems I overlooked this one. My apologies. --Tom 15:47, 4 January 2007 (CET)
