Southasland
Southasland has fallen, not by assault from enemy, but by rebellion from inside. Great monarchy has been overthrown, and tyranny has taken place. Equal to everyone, so they claim it to be, and still taxes go to tyrant, and one man rules.
This was written after Southasland fell to the utopic dream of Tuchanon. Below follows what was written about Southasland before the Tuchanons took power.
History
A more detailed historical archive exists, but we offer this short history as well.
Southasland was a monarchial kingdom created by Hasland out of the ashes of Tuchanon. Originally a member of the Protectorate of Hasland, the other members had abandoned the Protectorate or been defeated in war. Thus, they were the sole heirs to the past glory of Hasland.
King Kodak held the supreme power and authority over all people in the kingdom, and had the difficult task of diplomacy with foreign rulers. Southasland had a strong central leadership of its army under the command of its High Marshal, Lemon Tree. The Church of Southasland, lead by Arch Priest Boris, organized the bureaucrats to maximize their effectiveness. And Arctus, Royal Treasurer, oversaw the trading operations so vital to their survival. Together with a handful of advisors, this Knight's Council assisted the King with the operations of Southasland.
They saw little peace since their inception. First, the Cagilan Empire tried to destroy them. Even though the Cagilans invaded their capital three times, Southasland pushed them back and even looted the empire's own lands. Then a war over territorial disputes with Minas Ithil lead to two further occupations, but Southasland once again fought back and reclaimed their lands. A war with Ash Sea Islands began and although it is debated who is at fault for starting it, most of Southasland's allies blamed Southasland and assisted ASI. Even outnumbering Southasland four-to-one, they never breached the walls of Tucha.
Since they drew a cease-fire with ASI and regained favor with their former allies, Southasland helped theirr neighbors with operations to defeat the rebels in Leohampton as well as punish the vikings of Makar for their past raids across the continent. They were a small realm, but expectant of what was to come next for them.
King Boris
As of August 12, 2004, King Kodak no longer holds the throne. He has stepped down. Our new king is Boris, one of the oldest and most loyal of the members of our great realm.
Southasland, though it is a monachy, encourages free speech and disagreement, so long as it does not interfere with realm unity, or directly insults a noble.
Southasland has asked that only one noble per family serve the realm as it holds little territory.
Tuchanon III
At the begining of January 2005, rebellion broke out, and before a half day had passed, it had succeeded. There wasn't anything nobles of Southasland were able to do, even as a counter-rebellion was started right away. Southasland had fallen, and Tuchanon III stood in its place. This doesn't mean Southasland has been forgotten; many have sworn to come and beat those rebels to death.
Resurrection
For a brief time in January 2009, Southasland lived again as Tucha seceded from Falasan. Tara soon ended the realm by annexing Tucha on February 7.
