Protectorate of Magnus
The Realm
The Protectorate of Magnus was a realm founded in late 2007 during the dissolution of Abington by members of Ash Sea Islands. Based in Riverholm, the Protectorate of Magnus was a theocracy dedicated to the worship of Magna Serpænsism. The Protectorate was destroyed by the combined forces of Caergoth and Suville in the subsequent war in 2008.
Synopsis
Magnus, the Great Serpent, rules over this land. The Pontifex is His earthly servant and leader of His people. All that respect or revere the Great Serpent are welcome. You need not worship Magnus to reside in the Protectorate of Magnus, but you must be respectful of the ways of the Church.
- No lord or leader can come from those that are not well-established within the Church of Magna Serpaensism. The lords and leaders of the Protectorate of Magnus are not only leaders, but role models as well. No lord, council member, or marshal shall be appointed that is not a member of the Church. Any non-Magnite that is elected to a council position must step down within one day or risk being exiled, banned, or worse. It is recommended that those not of the Magna Serpaensism Church inform the scribes that they would refuse any position so that there is no confusion.
- No priests but those of Magna Serpaensism shall be allowed to preach in these lands. Priests of other faiths are welcome to engage in discourse with the nobility and the priesthood, but the peasants are too easily swayed by the false gods for they know no better.
- Even in evil nations, there are men of good or men that have been bewitched by the powers of Calamar. Therefore, we shall keep a policy of surgical strikes whenever and wherever we can. Most holy is the man or woman that strikes like the serpent. Silent, deadly, and with precision. She shall be raised up high and praised for her skills. Let all aspire to such heights.
- Priests and infiltrators are rewarded for taking such holy and arduous paths here in the Protectorate. All priests should speak to the Duke of Riverholm to arrange a duchy share. All infiltrators will receive rewards for choosing that path.
