Details
Antonine began life in the Colonies. He was made Count of Sovonoval aged just seventeen after the previous Count vacated the position to assume the lordship of a newly conquered region. He played a part in the defeat of Alowca and subsequently campaigned to become Prime Minister on a platform of reform and a pledge to fix the economy. He was elected Prime Minister in the third election he contested, but was forced out in a coup organised by Duke Hvrek of Alowca. He was subsequently put on trial o various charges and found innocent of them all.
He then campaigned for Hvrek to face trial for his actions but when this failed he left the Colonies, following the beautiful Kaylan McDowell whom he had fallen in love with.
After they arrived together in Minas Ithil he grew closer to her while they both fought in the war against the Cagilan Empire - a war which saw Antonine rise to the rank of Marshal. Finally, he and Kaylan spent a night together before she slipped away while he was asleep, and boarded a ship to Dwilight - a land which he could not travel to as his brother already resided there. The longer he spent in Minas Ithil the more morose he grew until finally news reached him that his brother had retired, leaving him finally free to pursue Kaylan.
He left Minas Ithil that same night, finally arriving in the Lurian Empire a few days later. Once there, he rapidly tracked down Kaylan and had a remonstration with her that left the pair of them closer to each other than before. Then the Lurian Civil War broke out, a war which saw both of them side with the Loyalists. During the war, Kaylan finally agreed to marry him and they did so before the year was out.
Antonine then rose to become Count of Orz, and then the Marshal of Luria's main battle army. But, following a narrow defeat, Antonine was stripped of the Marshal-ship by Duke Amaury - an action which was the start of a feud between them. Antonine then founded his own army in Orz before amalgamating it with the new army of Poryatown - the Cavalieri Araldica, of which he was appointed Marshal.
Finally, Lurian forces stormed the rebel stronghold of Giask and there Antonine and Kaylan shared a while together atop an outlying guard tower.
After the war, Antonine's fortunes remained steady but, following the overthrow of the Queen by the former Duke Amaury and his subsequent overthrow in turn by Duke Fulco, Antonine found himself on the outside of the realm's politics and with no appetite to continue to play the game any further. Instead he and Kaylan agreed to retire first to the House Octavius family estate in Port Nebel and then to Kaylan's own ancestral home once their child was born. And so, in the autumn of the sixteenth Year of Dwilight, the pair of them embarked on a ship to Port Nebel before the winter storms began.
