Roleplay from Antonine Octavius

"Antonine" a voice said softly from behind him. Antonine spun round with a smile on his face. "Kaylan!" he exclaimed, before he took her into his arms to embrace her. They kissed each other hungrily, husband and wife having spent far too long apart.

"How goes the war?" asked Kaylan as she slipped her arm around Antonine's.

"Well," he replied, leading her towards the battlements of the outlying guard tower he had appropriated for his quarters. "Look!" he gestured enthusiastically with his free hand. "Out there Giask lies in ruins, its population decimated, its nobles crushed! Pian en Luries has triumphed! It is the true dawn of the Lurian empire! And now..." he turned to her again, putting a hand up to her head to run it lightly through her long red hair, "we will all enjoy the fruits of victory" he finished huskily before kissing her once again.

After they broke apart, he smiled lovingly at her as she asked him "And what will our share of the fruits be in this new empire, husband dearest?"

Antonine pondered for a moment. "I sense you have something in mind?"

"Of course" Kaylan smiled. "Imagine how nice it would be if, instead of being Count and Countess Orz, we were Duke and Duchess Giask?"

Antonine hissed as he suddenly drew breath in through his teeth. "You mean?" He laughed. "Oh my, that would certainly be one in the eye for that pompous fool Amaury."

"Indeed it would, which might be exactly why Her Majesty would grant it to us, provided you were to ask nicely of course."

"Hmm, I do believe you are right" he said. "As always, of course" he smiled at her.

"Flatterer" she replied fondly.

"However, I do see one minor problem" he added as they began to walk back along the battlements.

"What's that?" Kaylan asked in concern, suddenly stopping.

"Why, it's that your beauty is so... intoxicating, that I am incapable of thinking clearly on matters of politics. I must confess, my mind is occupied with thoughts of a much... baser, nature" he grinned at her.

"Well," she said softly, "I suggest we do something about that."

They walked briskly together towards the stairs. Before they went inside Antonine had just enough time to call out to one of the guards "I am going to my quarters and I am not to be disturbed."
