The region of Nidhogg's Mark was named for the peak of the same name. The Mark, as it is commonly referred to by the locals, thrusts upward some ten thousand feet or more, towering over the plains to the East like a solitary sentinel keeping the Watch. Nidhogg's Mark is not so much a lone mountain, as it is the highest and Easternmost peak in a long, sloping ridge that sweeps away to the West like the spine of a great dragon, bisecting the county into two regions. The Northern half is covered by peat bogs, long grasses, and fields of wheat or barley, with the slopes of the ridge being largely populated by roving herds of goats and sheep. The Southern half of the county is largely forested by pines on the upper slopes giving way to mixed cedar and hardwood stands the closer one comes to the shore of the Great Inland Sea. The locals here are skilled craftsmen, though there are many fishing villages as well, and one might also come across the occasional small herd of dairy cattle.

Once one of the regions of Springdale, This coastal region once underwent great upheaval as a Rebellion shook the region and it claimed independence from Springdale. However, after the actions of the army of The Sword and Shield the region was retaken and restored to Springdale's rule. After the Duke Edward's succession to form the Raivan Empire, Nidhogg's Mark became one of the main food producers for the fledgling realm .
