Nethercoate Family

The Nethercoate family is is a noble family currently residing in the Suville region of Atamara. The immediate family consists of Faldron, Braedon, Ascilia and Ysmena, all siblings. Faldron Nethercoate is the eldest, a knight of Suville in the duchy of Suville in the realm Suville serving as vassal of Duchess Callisto Maximoff. Braedon Nethercoate is the youngest sibling and is currently a knight of Ippetimbal in the duchy of Carmel in the realm Fronen on the continent of Beluaterra.

Coat of Arms

The Grant of Arms granting this Arms to all descendants of Eustachian Nethercoate was presented to Faldron Nethercoate II from the Royal Herald of Lourdengue on 13 May, 1953.

Design

• Escutcheon: Two fish in two rivers, a profile of Amphitrite, goddess of the sea between them.
• Crest: A helmet profile crested with a ship bearing the flag of Lourdengue.
• Symbolism: The two rivers are the Crestridge and Fardnough rivers, whose deltas filter to the Trocha Sea, the land first settled by the Nethercoate family. The ship on the crest represents the longstanding seamanship of the Nethercoate family.

Origins

Not much is known of the early history of the Nethercoate family. What little documentation exists suggests that the family immigrated from the Eastern Continent in the 1500's and landed on the shores of Morona, eventually settling in what is now Lourdengue, on the southern coast. The family did well for themselves, becoming renown for their seamanship and were often in the service of multiple Lords and Dukes, providing safe passage on intercontinental voyages. During the Two Rivers Rebellion in 1753, a large number of the family were killed, and the rest disappeared into obscurity.

Faldron Nethercoate the first (1932-1973) regained some of the Nethercoate reputation by becoming a master shipbuilder. He married Lucy Von Gregory in 1956 and had one child, Faldron Nethercoate the second. (1957-2012) The younger Faldron continued in his father's footsteps, amassing a large amount of wealth and gaining influence throughout Morona. He married Krissia Arunne in 1982 and had four children, Faldron, Braedon, and Ascilia.

Faldron II also had a daughter, Ysmena, with Haneera Smythe. The family does not currently recognize the legitimacy of Ysmena and the affair has caused turmoil within the family that exists till this day.
