Ironsides Family/Bowie/Chapter Two
Demon of Dwilight, Chapter Two: Welcome Winter to Scholasticism
The Apple Does Not Fall Far From The Tree
Prince Bowie was overthrown by the Sallowsian people after they discovered he impregnated one the their tribes young princesses. The Exiled Prince returned to D'Hara with a ban on his head from the city Elders. In one covert weekend, Lord Bowie infiltrated Sallowtown and removed the heads of all the city chiefs effectively changing the minds of the successors. Though still unable to return to the city on fear of another uprising, this act has at least given the Demon of Dwilight's newest offspring a position in Sallowsian royalty. In the Spring of Dwilight, 6 YD, Winter Ironsides was born. His father was notified by a Sallowsian messenger while in a cantina in Port Raviel.
To no one's surprise, Lord Bowie is making his way through life much the same way as his lecherous father Jagur did. Sowing wild oats is in his nature and in his blood.
Enrollment in University
In the same cantina the Prince learned of his son's birth, he overheard that a University was founded in Springdale City. Being the intellectual that he is (despite his demon) he was overjoyed to hear such news. He immediately prepared his things and journeyed to Springdale to enroll in the Dwilight University. To get there he passed through the Mimer Peninsula and the Raivanlands, two areas which he visited in the past. This crossing was uneventful. When he did reach the city, he joined the school with enthusiasm and quickly became friends with some of the other students.
Though his formal education has just begun, he already has much to show from his already initiated path to wisdom. His ambitions and intelligence are both boundless. He has already publicly stated he intends on bringing the University to D'Hara to "educate those dolts."
After some contemplation, the Prince has published his first essay and submitted it as his application to be the Dean of History. The essay is titled "The Sallowsian Melting Salad" and was completed in the Spring of 6 YD (or the 14th of June 2009).
The Prince was told that his essay could not be categorized as an historical piece and so his attempt to become the Dean of History was neutralized. A week or so later, during his journey home from Springdale City, he decided to take the time to write an essay on the Dragon Rebellion of D'Hara, sharing the events which took place and his involvement with them. It was titled "Cause and Consequence of the D’Haran Rebellion in the Spring of 5 YD". To his hope, perhaps this one would roll out the carpet to his desired position.
Along the journey back to D'Hara, the Prince took further advantage of the traveling time and wrote an essay he had been longing to write, "The Anticipation is All." This essay was about his favourite past time, dueling.
The Dueling Circuit!
When he completed the essay, he shared it with his peers in D'Hara and took the initiative to finally pursue his dream of building a dueling guild in Dwilight. With the cooperation of Count Gislher, and by his own funding, the Dwilight Dueling Circuit was founded over the old dueling ring he originally built in Qubel. It was a joyful accomplishment for the Prince, who reported the guilds completion in the July article of the Dwilight Daily. He hopes very much that the guild catches on and spreads throughout the continent, finally pitting the best swordsmen to discover who is the strongest!
Visit to Duke Hexic's Basement of Pleasure, and the saliva'd argument between the Prince and Duke Mathias
After the Prince returned from Springdale he expected a large welcoming party with fireworks and exotic animals, all of this he demanded from the D'Harans. When he arrived and found an empty pier, he quickly returned to the drink to tranquil him. An invitation from his longtime friend and competitor Duke Hexic prompted the Prince to visit Qubel Lighthouse. This is the event. Additionally, Duke Mathias had decided to shut down the Way of the Dragons temple in Port Nebel without notice or reason and the Prince sought to determine the cause. The two argued to no resolution. Their letter correspondence occurred during the visit.
The First Census
This was also around the same time the Prince ordered the realm to participate in his census. Since the Prince enrolled in the Dwilight University he has taken a greater focus on the history and society of D'Hara. To further his studies on the realm, he gathered and interpreted the data of the census. It was supported by only 2% of the nobility, but gathered interesting data nonetheless. While the King was not a participant, the Prince was. The census can be found via the Book of D'Hara.
"Dean of History"
In the Summer of 7 YD, the Prince was finally awarded the seat of Dean of History after his major work on the D'Haran Rebellion was accepted by the Dean of Students. This is his most proudest achievement yet and he is filled with vision and vigour for the future of the University.
After some time passed, and the Dean of History installed his Criteria into the Department of History, a fascinating event occurred in the city of Port Nebel which captured the Prince's attention. The rebel leader from Ordenstaat, Xiahou Dun, was killed in a duel against Lord Zeromus Abaron. Dean Bowie immediately began a historical project. He interviewed many and collected a great deal of research to finally produce his second Historical essay, "The Death of Xiahou Dun", published in the Summer of 8 YD (or the 22nd of September, 2009). This project was completed while he was in prison awaiting interrogation from the Confessor of D'Hara for a kidnapping gone wrong, and a speculated rebellion.
