Brennaborg Family/Egbert
The life of Egbert is filled with death. His mother Adela died when giving birth to him and his father Reynold died in battle while he was still a kid. When he grew older, things seemed to change and he even found a wife, Kenau of Vinstow. But when he dared her to ride a horse, she fell and died. He lost his mind and left his family for the Colonies.
When Leofric Black came with a plan to secure Asker, Egbert immediately crossed the river to negotiate with the locals. The rest of the army first had to deal with a monster incursion in Adaria, but followed soon after. The locals felt confident in Portion's ability to carry out Leofric's plan and agreed to join the realm. Egbert and gave immediate orders to build the castles which would receive the names Kenauborg (in honor of his wife) and Andreiborg (in honor of Viscount Andrei of Adaria, whose food export proved crucial for the recovering of Asker.
When General Eraus was taken out by an assassin, Egbert stepped up and took charge of the army - initially as Vice-Marshal, but eventually as the new General. After Jules Scribbler had been ambushed by the undead Lord Salak of Wetham, Egbert brought the army to challenge Lord Salak, even though thr Portioneers knew they would be outnumbered. This earned Egbert the nickname 'the Lion'. Although Lord Salak defeated the Portioneers, Lord Salak realized the living were much fiercer than the undead and started forming his own army of living. This would result in him being ousted and the creation of Helheim.
Nevertheless, the rise of Helheim was considered dangerous and Portion decided to retire its territories north of the river, while Viscount Andrei Mersault was sent to the Assassins to prevent their collapse. Egbert was elected as Andrei's successor and became Viscount of Adaria. After the Fall of Lukon during the The Blackdawn Invasion, Adaria was granted to Duke Ivan November, while Egbert took possession of Diverdur to watch the new neighbours. During this time, he studied the daemonic language and opened negotiations.
