The Historical Records of the Avis Family begin with the arrival of the family in the region of Ciarin Tut on Dwilight. From where they came before that the Records only state, "That Land of Justice and Beauty that Shines in the darkness".
It is said that Lucas Avis, the progenitor of the family, was shipwrecked when a particularly violent storm enveloped his fleet. The Flagship named R.A.S Rosa Roxa was swept up and away from the fleet and for a week, was carried by the tides, eventually beaching on the coast of Ciarin Tut. Lucas and the other survivors mourned for a week about their predicament. They had lost their fleet which had been carrying troops and supplies in for a now far distant war.
Knowing that this strange and alien land would be their home, Lucas along with the men and women of the Rosa Roxa started to dismantle the ship and use the salvageable materials to start construction on a new village a mile inland, naming it Purple Rose in honour of the ship that helped make it. Within a year the small village grew to become a thriving village, Lucas had organized a Fishing Fleet with the small boats that had been salvaged and had negotiated with several indigenous villages for trade. Within ten years all thoughts of trying to return to their homeland had ended and the people had settled the land nicely. Some had courted with the local people and gotten married eventually, and some of the locals had migrated and come to live in Purple Rose.
However Purple Rose was beginning to get too small for its inhabitants. It was then that Lucas called an expedition to found a new village to the hills in the north west where the slopes were perfect for growing fruits and vegetables, as well as vines. Taking a third of the village that had volunteered they travelled for fifteen miles to the slopes and started construction of the village. In less than a year, their crops were planted and the village was named Tor Rington.
