Aquitaine
History
Aquitaine was formed on August 13, 2007 when Duke Spiritmonger seceded the city of Riverholm from Abington after a heated dispute with King Gauihu Olik. Abington immediately declared war on the new Monarchy, although several other realms improved relations with the fledging kingdom as part of a wider conflict. Despite this, Aquitaine was wedged between the Ash Sea Islands and Abington and her survival largely depended on gaining the support of the former. The existence of Aquitaine would prove to be shortlived however.
Although Duke Spiritmonger made several impassioned pleas for support to the Ash Sea Islands, they saw Aquitaine as a threat to the stability of the region and declared war on the fledgling realm. Between the armies of the Ash Sea Islands and Abington, Aquitaine was swiftly crushed and Riverholm was recaptured by Abington on August 30, 2007. Yet within hours of Riverholm's recapture, Duke Magnus the Mighty ceded the city of Wayburg from Abington to form the realm of Caergoth causing fresh woes for Abington.
Duke Spiritmonger was later executed in Stoneville for his role in the secession of Riverholm.
