To put it mildly, Haide has problems with authority. She very much enjoys testing boundaries and can be irreverent and abrasive. Her teasing and mischief-causing will frequently toe (if not cross) the line of disrespect, especially when outranked. But when she is comfortable, she has an acute sense of humor and child-like delight with the world. She's terrible at keeping secrets.

Origin

Childhood

As the notorious pirate lord Oscar Osoro's first child, Haide's youth was spent at sea aboard the Osos Dorados fleet. She was raised in the House Osoro's way: cruelly. No mistakes were tolerated. She was forced to participate in horrible pirate raids on innocent villages.

"No confías en nadie. No debes nada. Nunca arrepentes." Translation: Trust no one. Owe nothing. Never regret. - House of Osoro motto

However, Haide had a stubborn streak of innate thoughtfulness that no brutality could quash. In raids, she would often let peasants escape when she could do so without tipping off her father. At times, she would push back against her father when he ordered terroristic attacks of no strategic importance. Naturally, these efforts were always poorly received, leading Oscar to declare Haide a failure and an unworthy successor.

Growing up, Haide always felt more at home with the regular men of the fleet than the elite. Several of the pirates would look out for her and protect her from Oscar when they could, and she considered them her older brothers and uncles.

When her younger sister, Eztli, was born, Haide endeavored to shield her from their harsh life and father. However, there was little that could be done.

Lost Memories

To prove they were worthy of leading her own fleet, Oscar sent Haide and Eztli to destroy an unarmed vessel of refugees in the Gold Sea. It was a test that would result in hundreds of deaths and serve no strategic purpose. Initially, Haide refused, but under threat of death, she went. She sent Eztli to the East Continent protect her from the carnage and then moved to take the vessel.

However, things did not go according to plan. There was a powerful magical artifact on board. That, coupled with Haide's own hesitancy, resulted in a fierce battle. Haide's ship was destroyed in a magical shockwave. She washed up on the coast of Golden Farrow in Tol Goldora with no recollection of her life before.
