Ibladesh Pushes Forward
March 11,1011

Ibladesh pushed into Caligus lands once again, invading Abadan. With an overwhelming attack, Ibladesh successfully went into Abadan and defeated the Caligus military. This led to an Ibladesh take over in the region, which was successful. The people of Abadan are now hailing Ibladesh as their government. Is this the end of a long standing stalemate or just a temporary hold?

Rogue Take Overs
March 11, 1011

It would seem there are some regional maintenance problems around the continent, as Lorient revolted from Diocese of Aix, Moyale from Ibladesh, Bisciye from Perdan, An Najaf from Caligus, and Mines of Isadril from Caligus. The rogue regions spread, especially on the southern part of the continent, are the war intensifying or are the people tired of the fighting?

A Call for Recruits!
March 8, 1011

Earlier today, and during the week, it is been said that the Obsidian Islands are offering high gold rewards to anyone who joins their cause and even more if they bring a strong unit to help in their war. The hope is simple - bring in more nobles and stronger army units to win the war.

Even Numbers?
March 8, 1011

With The Federation and The Alliance meeting to battle nearly everyday, this reporter decided to look at the stats and figure out exactly how each side stood against the other. These numbers are, of course, slightly off and should not be taken to be exactly correct.

"The Federation" - 128,500 combat strength, with 55 regions and 227 nobles. "The Alliance" - 127,000 combat strength, with 59 regions and 250 nobles.

With these numbers in mind, it would seem "The Federation" is currently holding a slight combat strength advantage over "The Alliance" while "The Alliance" is holding the advantage in nobles and regions. Quite an evenly matched continental war, which side will use their advantage more effectively? This reporter hopes to report this in later issues, or perhaps even later in this one.

Federation VS. Alliance
March 8, 1011

It is well known what the current wars are:

Caligus Wars Ibladesh - Diocese of Aix - Fontan - Sultanate of Asena - Westmoor

Obsidian Islands War Sultanate of Asena

Perdan Wars Diocese of Aix - Ibladesh

Sirion Wars Sultanate of Asena - Fontan

Westmoor Wars Caligus

Diocese of Aix Wars Perdan - Caligus

Ibladesh Wars Caligus - Perdan

Fontan Wars Sirion - Caligus

Sultanate of Asena Wars Obsidian Islands - Sirion - Caligus

Now with all of this in mind, it would seem two blocks have been created on the East Continent, one which will be known as "The Federation" which includes Ibladesh, Diocese of Aix, Sultanate of Asena, Fontan and Westmoor. On the other side of things stand "The Alliance", which includes Sirion, Caligus, Perdan, and Obsidian Islands. Two sides, both fighting to prove they are better, they are stronger, and of course...the side that wins will be proven to be "right".

Assassins Strike
March 7, 1011

During war it is not uncommon for infiltrators, or assassins, to be used against the enemy realm. This certainly seems to be the case when it comes to the enemies of Diocese of Aix. Recently both their Patriarch Zoe Agenor and Paladin Primus Lamorak Ap Rhodri where wounded by an assassin. Who will be next on this highly skilled infiltrator's hit list? One must be in awe of the skill level this one, or two assassins must have.

SoA Has Another Face
March 7, 1011

After their last Sultan has disappeared, a new election took place in the lands of the Sultanate. After a few days, the votes where counted a new Sultan was named for the Sultanate of Asena. This new Sultan is Leandros Galvez. Here at Obsidian News we wish the new Sultan all the best, hopefully this one will last longer then the recent ones have.

Cutting it Close
March 6th, 1011

In a huge battle for Abadan, Caligus put up over a thousand troops to try and defend their rural region from the incoming Ibladesh army, which was close in number but still holding roughly a one hundred man advantage. The battle waged, and neither side was willing to give an inch, struggling through each pass. Finally the Ibladesh army was able to advance through Caligus front lines and press through to claim the victory of Abadan. Hopefully the continent does not see to many more of these huge battles, many families have lost loved ones today.

Baron Sielo Missing?
March 1st, 1011

After spending some time in an Sultanate of Asena prison cell, Baron Sielo returned to the capital, Kalmar only to turn up missing a few days later. Some wonder what may have happened to him, if he was kidnapped, went through horrible, unspeakable things and is now hiding away, or perhaps just decided to leave and not tell anybody and instead left us all to wonder.

Sirion Advancing, SoA Hiding
March 1st, 1011

Perhaps in a move to try and just stay alive a little longer, Sultanate of Asena has nearly all their troops hold up and hiding in Kazakh only willing to venture out and risk exposure in Kazan or Gadlock. This is leaving their federation ally, Fontan, wide open to Sirion advancing on Fontan regions. Unless Sultanate of Asena gets over their fear of leaving the Kazakh duchy soon, it would seem Fontan has seen their last days.

The Border Patrol
March 1st, 1011

After a successful attack in Gadlock, Obsidian Islands troops began heading home, however due to poor movement there was a couple of bad battles in Kazan which led to a good portion of Obsidian Islands' army to be destroyed. Following this Sultanate of Asena was able to temporarily move into Stora and take control of the region for two days. Sultanate of Asena has since not returned to Stora.

Sirion Pushes Forward
March 1st, 1011

It would seem Sirion has nearly finished off Fontan now, as they are down to only Krimml and Ashforth left, recently losing their namesake city, Fontan, to Sirion and Karbala as well. Fontan seems to be running out of time, and quickly.

The Northern War in the South?
March 1st, 1011

You didn't read wrong, it would seem the stalemate the north had seen for some long has moved on and now it's Ibladesh and Caligus who seem to be stuck in a locked position. Despite many large battles there has been only a few regions actually changing hands, and the damage to both sides (not counting cs counts of course) seems to be fairly low. Is one or both sides holding back in this conflict or have they found their military match up? This is one war to keep a close eye on in the future.

Perdan and DoA
March 1st, 1011

Earlier today Perdan finished their second take over, Lorient being the target. This has now completely cut Aix (Diocese of Aix's capital) off from the rest of their realm. While there is not many reports coming out of the south, it would seem very clear that Perdan is easily beating DoA. Will Caligus come and help Perdan deliver the final blow? Will Ibladesh come and help Diocese of Aix reclaim the regions they lost? Only time will tell.
