Description

Soren is an athletic young noble. While he is tall, he's not the tallest among men, and his dark hair and gray eyes lend to his tendency to stay back and observe his surroundings.

NPCs

  • Captain Oldred - Captain of Soren's Infantry Unit
  • Katria Kadara - First born daughter of the Kadara family, minor nobles that maintain the lands around the Kadara River in Seven Rivers

History

Pre-nobility

Soren spent seven years being trained by the Blue Tower in Ren Madragas where he watched both of his brothers fall apart and leave. Committed, he saw his training through, becoming proficient with a spear, quarterstaff, bow, and a sword. In Soren's training days he had befriended another up and coming warrior that taught him music. He became proficient in the musical arts in secret even after his friend was killed in action.

Nothoi

Soren's first home was his family home of Nothoi. He did not stay long though, finding little besides an estate in Reeds waiting for him. He quickly moved on.

Obia'Syela

Soren's next move was to the capital of Obia'Syela, taking an estate in Keffa itself. Disheartened that the Theocracy that pledged itself to fight Daimons was spending so much time on a ritual, he started to lose interest. Attempting to find out what they were doing with portal stones, Soren joined the local faith and only learned that the nobles were trying to summon a magic academy. Even as a great beam of light connected with the city and gave strange dreams, Soren struck his name from their books and set off, though not before making an interesting pen pal out of the Grandmistress of Obia'Syela herself, Saoirse MacArbin.

Ar Agyr

Soren's next home was as a knight of the Seven Rivers of Ar Agyr. Taking an interest in the local happenings, he joined the Agyrian Academy as an Aspirant, and then found himself once more on the field back to Obia'Syela, this time as a soldier of intervention, should the worst come to pass, holding even as the mysterious pipers struck each other down and several realms attempted rituals to take control of the light. The appearance of a mysterious man from another world caused Soren to reveal his musical history. With the help of the adventurer Wren, he managed to wring some information out of the mysterious visitor, such as the use of magic in spell casting.

Upon his return to Ar Agyr, Soren soon found himself on a constant campaign against the rogues of Beluaterra. He took up the old family faith in the Old Gods at this time. Meanwhile, monsters and undead were spawning at unheard of rates, and a campaign to the south ended with multiple injuries in battle against never ending hordes. Upon his return, Soren was declared Count of Seven Rivers, and Champion of Avalon.

Inheritance

Soren received his inheritance from the Calanar Family one day. This included several mementos from his namesake's time around Beluaterra, and as one time Consul of Melhed. It also included the Daimon Sword that his namesake, Soren Calanar once wielded.
